NBA $6,000 Friday Line-Up Tips
Friday’s NBA $6k Draftstars contest has a bit of a twist, with four on the slate. So where’s the value? Well, Westbrook is tried and true, but we’ve had to get creative with our options.
Here is a team you may consider for the NBA $6k+ Friday competition
Point Guard
Russell Westbrook ($24,400)
The point guard position is notably bereft of genuine fantasy prospects in this contest, with Westbrook and Bledsoe the two shining lights. Simply put, everyone else will be plugging Westbrook into their line-ups. If you’re thinking about Bledsoe, consider this. Bledsoe scored 69.50 points against Toronto, in an insane performance. Russ has eclipsed that mark four times in January alone. It’s almost $9k difference, but it’s worth it. Set and forget.
Lou Williams ($9,850)
The Lakers veteran has cooled slightly, but after three games averaging 40, he stunk it up against Dallas, as his side went down by a franchise record 49 points. There’s a few Lakers players in this line-up, and while we have genuine high hopes for all of them, there is plenty of reasons to be optimistic for an uptick in performance. Despite trade rumours, Williams has been a shining light for the young side, and expect him to step up for 30+ fantasy points against Utah.
Shooting Guard
Devin Booker ($11,950)
Here’s the kid that everyone’s talking about. Booker has been immense for the Suns, and has shown his class in the latter stages of games. Who can forget his final quarter heroics against the Spurs two weeks ago? He is yet to go under 20 points since January 4, and has gone under 30 fantasy points just once since January 6. When he has the hot hand, he’s unstoppable, and his performance against Cleveland last week showed he can stuff the stats sheet in other categories.
Brandon Ingram ($6,950)
Ingram was woeful against Dallas – but he’s hardly Robinson Crusoe in that regard. He could only muster 6 points (2-12 from the field) for 5 measly Draftstars points. Obviously the only way is up right? The fact that Ingram will continue to start at point guard in place of D’Angelo Russell, and the fact that prior to his Dallas meltdown, he had 32.25 and 33 fantasy points respectively, means he earns a slot in our line-up. Are we anxious? Sure. But the kid is a real talent, so at that price, let’s back him in.
Small Forward
Andrew Wiggins ($11,550)
Wiggins is currently on a mini-tear right now, with fantasy scores over 35 in five of his last seven. He’s also on form with his shooting, with 31 points in his last start against Phoenix. Indiana’s defence concedes almost 107 points a game on average, so there’s no reason why Wiggins can’t light it up for another big game. Given his rebound numbers have improved of late, why not lock him in?
Nick Young ($6,750)
The third of our Lakers players, and Swaggy P is the living embodiment of the Lakers’ woes. He’s inconsistent, and the woeful performance against Dallas is still fresh in our minds. So why are we slotting him in? Similarly to Ingram, the absence of Russell opens up offensive opportunities for the likes of Young. His ability beyond the arc is well-known, and against Utah he should get a few looks. After shaking off a nasty injury during the week, there are no excuses for Young. He has the potential to light it up, and let’s hope that’s this week.
Power Forward
Nikola Jokic ($13,450)
Aside from Westbrook, this was the other no-brainer. Five of the last seven games have seen Jokic eclipse 50 fantasy points, while his lowest fantasy score this year is 36.50. His passing ability is peerless for a man of his size, and he stuffs the stat sheet in all facets. Lock in the Joker and watch the points pile up.
Darrell Arthur ($5,000)
Along with Westbrook and Jokic, it’s likely Arthur will be popular in this contest, and with good reason. He’s slotted nicely into the Denver line-up after battling injuries all year. In his last six games he is averaging 11 points and four rebounds, but importantly that’s translated into 19 minutes for 22 fantasy points. At $5k, that level of production is very enticing, and we’ve overlooked his impending popularity to plug him in today.
Centre
Tyson Chandler ($9,500)
There’s plenty to like with Tyson Chandler in this contest, with a low of 28.5 fantasy points since January 3, including four double-doubles in his last six. In his last start, Chandler scored 22 points (100% from the field) with 17 rounds for 49 fantasy points. Against Denver, expect Chandler to at least register another double-double.
