Some are saying the Crows will win this one comfortably, but I’m not so sure. Personally, I can see this one being an absolute belter. One things for sure though – there is no way this game will be as awful as the Adelaide vs Fremantle game last weekend. Yuck.

Forward

Charlie Cameron ($10,650)

Charlie Cameron has had a much improved season, averaging 79 Draftstars points per game. Cameron has had regular stints through the midfield in 2017 and this should continue at the Cattery, where pace through the middle is essential. Has averaged 90 points over the past fortnight, booting seven goals throughout this period. I expect Cameron to be too good for Geelong’s inexperienced small defenders.

Hugh Greenwood ($9,600)

Hugh Greenwood has been a handy new addition for the Crows since his debut, averaging 74 Draftstars points, 13 disposals and eight tackles in his two games. The 25-year-old is ready made and has a real thirst for the contest, illustrated by his exemplary tackle count to date. Looks to be a lock to get five tackles per game – that’s 20 points in the bank – and if he can get a goal or two, he should be able to reach a solid total for our sides.

Midfield

Joel Selwood ($15,350)

I think I’ve picked more than any player this season. That is probably because of his huge ceiling and the fact he has fallen below 90 Draftstars points on just two occasions. Selwood loves Simonds more than life itself, scoring totals of 122 and 116 in the past fortnight there. He will relish the opportunity of playing there three weekends in a row, and should rise to the challenge of this tight contest.

Brad Crouch ($12,250)

Brad Crouch comes at a deflated price for someone of his calibre. Crouch has hit the Draftstars ton on three occasions this year, with a six game average of 92 points. He has even scored 100 and 102 in his past two, so I’m not really sure why his price is so low. What I do know, is that Crouch at this price is a steal. Too good to ignore.

Steven Motlop ($11,050)

Steven Motlop has been very consistent over his past three games, with scores of 73, 77 and 72. Never thought I would ever utter the words ‘consistent’ and ‘Steve Motlop’ in the same sentence, but there you go. Consistently average is the problem, with Motlop failing to hit the 90-point mark for the last month. We haven’t seen a Motlop standout performance in a while, and I feel like he is due for one.

James Parsons ($6,450)

We are quite short on options here and after Jordan Cunico was dropped, the only other cheapie in the equation was James Parsons *collective groan*. Parsons is averaging just the 48 Draftstars points this season, including a less than impressive total of 27 last week. This is the second time he has scored 27 in 2017, but I expect him to get a better score this week. If he can return to the form of his first two games (62 and 76) he will be well worth the investment.

Defence

Zach Tuohy ($12,300)

Zach Tuohy has been a good option all year round in his caper, as the Cats love getting the ball in his hands. Tuohy seems to like his new home Kardina Park, reaching scores of 95 and 94 in his first two matches at the venue. The Crows love to run and gun themselves off the half-back flank, so Tuohy should be able to reach another solid possession tally on Friday night.

Jake Kelly ($9,550)

Jake Kelly has emerged as a reasonable Draftstars scorer. The young defender has scored just 55 points per game in is nine outings this season, but has managed two 70+ totals on the trot. We generally say young key position defenders are a no no, but there isn’t a hell of a lot of cheap defenders in this one. Three scores under 33, but also three above 70. Seems to be getting more of the footy lately, so he is worth the risk.

Ruck

Zac Smith ($12,500)

Zac Smith is in some pretty hot form this season, averaging 89 Draftstars points per game. The big man has fared well since Rhys Stanley was dropped, averaging 114 points and 42 hitouts, thanks mostly to his 148 against the Bulldogs. He is up against a much more difficult opponent than Tom Boyd, though, in Sauce Jacobs. Think Smith should be able to draw even with Jacobs, giving you some extra coin to spend elsewhere.
