NRL $10,000+ Broncos v Bulldogs Line-Up

The Bulldogs will be massive underdogs as they travel north on Thursday night to take on the Broncos at Suncorp Stadium. Not only are the Dogs 13th and the Broncos 4th on the table, but the Dogs have just one win on the road all season, while Brisbane have won six from eight at home. They will, however, welcome back Origin stars David Klemmer, Josh Jackson and Brett Morris who will at least give them an outside chance at an upset.

Here is a team you may consider for the NRL $10,000+ Broncos v Bulldogs competition

Front Row Forward

Josh McGuire ($12,100)

After standout performances for the Maroons in Origin, McGuire was given the week off to recover from his heavy workload. As the perpetrator of plenty of sledging and some cheap shots throughout the Origin series, McGuire has had plenty of publicity this week and will be looking to put in a massive performance against the Bulldogs to let his football do the talking. He comes at a handy discount in this contest due to a concussion which saw him play just seven minutes against the Storm in round 17.

Joe Ofahengaue ($10,300)

After re-signing with the Broncos on Tuesday until 2019, the promising young forward will have a weight lifted off of his shoulders as he takes the field on Thursday night. In the last three games, the bench forward has been brilliant recently, providing the Broncos with plenty of running power through the middle. He has racked up over 100 metres in each of the last three games and even managed to cross over for a try against the Raiders. After working his way back into the team through some strong reserve grade performances and being rewarded with a new contract, Ofahengaue will be keen to continue his recent form and consolidate his place in first-grade.

Hooker

Michael Lichaa ($11,750)

Despite Matt Frawley getting the starting nod at hooker in the Bulldogs’ last start, Lichaa has been named to return to the starting line-up for this clash. Although he doesn’t possess the same playmaking flair that Frawley has, Lichaa is more solid defensively which gives his forwards some more leeway in that aspect of the game. Be sure to check the final teams for this game but when Lichaa starts his tackling alone usually results in a Draftstars score of around 40 and he has some upside in attack from the six or seven runs he makes out of dummy-half per game.

Second Row Forward

Josh Jackson ($13,850)

After being awarded man of the match in Origin II, Jackson was largely ineffective in the third contest as he struggled to get into the game in attack. However, back at club land Jackson is tough to stop on the edge and the Broncos felt the full wrath of his running game when the two clubs met in round five. On that day, Jackson ended up with 151 metres gained, three tackle breaks, a line break and a try assist as the Bulldogs got over the line in a close one. He has form on the board and should be a great option once again.

Adam Elliott ($9,000)

Elliott is as reliable as they come in the back-row and his ability to play huge minutes has been crucial for the Bulldogs this season. Last game against the Knights, Elliott played the full game and ended up with 102 metres, 32 tackles and three tackle breaks in a typically solid performance. He will be tasked with defending Matt Gillett for large portions of the game and considering Gillett is possibly the best back-rower in the game, Elliott will have to have an impact defensively if the Bulldogs are any chance of winning this contest.

Centre

Alex Glenn ($11,500)

Glenn has become an 80-minute back-rower in the last four matches, so to have him available in the centres is an absolute gift. His running game has been incredible recently and he has clocked over 140 metres in each of the last three weeks including a massive 179 metre performance last game against Newcastle. While he isn’t an offloading forward, his ability to rack up massive metres and then back up defensively and make plenty of tackles makes him a must-have in the centres for this contest.

Half

Anthony Milford ($15,150)

In his return from a dislocated shoulder, Milford looked at full fitness last week as he led the Broncos to a handy win over the Knights. When he’s on song, the Milf is a fantastic player with the ability to run the ball and pass the ball with equal aplomb. His ability to generate points in a variety of ways makes him an extremely attractive commodity in Draftstars, as he can score tries, assist on them, make line breaks, break tackle or get offloads. Combine this with his usual running and kicking metres and it is clear the Milford has a massive upside. Given that Brisbane should be victorious, Milford will likely have a big impact on the result which should result in him being the best scoring half.

Wing/Fullback

Chase Stanley ($8,850)

It took a couple of weeks, but Stanley is starting to find his best football after an extended stint on the sidelines. In the Bulldogs last game, Stanley ended up with a brilliant line break, 167 metres, five tackle breaks and three offloads in what was a standout performance in a close victory. Even if he doesn’t quite match the heights of last game, Stanley is still great value thanks to his dangerous running game, solid defence and cheap price tag.

Jamayne Isaako ($6,400)

Isaako was impressive in his debut and will only be better for the run as he enters his second game this round. Despite being targeted, he was safe under the high ball and showed plenty of heart in his kick returns which led to an impressive total of 156 metres gained. With Darius Boyd, Corey Oates and David Mead currently on the sidelines, Isaako will have a few opportunities to showcase his obvious talent and ensure he is a part of Brisbane’s long-term plans.
