Looking to bolster your own line-up? Here’s a few best buys to consider.

Defender

Michael Hibberd – Melbourne – $13,750

Hibberd continues to present himself as a viable Draftstars option in defence. As a ball winner, he ranks sixth among the top 20 defenders in the league for his consistency rating, winning at least 21 disposals and 10 uncontested possessions in all 16 games. You can pick him with plenty of confidence.

Kade Simpson – Carlton- $12,550

With an average of 24 disposals and 94 points from his past three games against the Hawks at Etihad Stadium, Simpson looms as a solid pick this round. His form across the past month has been mixed, but he’s more than capable of smashing out 100+ points on his day.

Zac Williams – Greater Western Sydney – $12,250

Williams has been an inconsistent scorer this season, but that shouldn’t discount him from selection in Draftstars. He has overshadowed Heath Shaw this season, ranking higher for disposals and uncontested possessions per game. Williams was important in last round’s win over the Bulldogs, scoring 112 points.

Midfielders

Zach Merrett – Essendon – $16,350

Merrett will be keen to atone for his one-game suspension as he returns to the side for this week’s trip to Gold Coast. His record outside of Victoria this season is outstanding, averaging 125 points, which includes reaching 120 in four of five games. His best haul of 140 was also in Queensland against Brisbane in Round 2.

Dayne Zorko – Brisbane Lions – $14,700

Zorko’s previous trip to the MCG in Round 10 was a successful one from a fantasy viewpoint, finishing with 28 disposals, two goals and 124 points. He has been a solid scorer at the venue across seven career games, averaging 25 disposals, five tackles and 106 points.

Matt Crouch – Adelaide Crows – $14,450

Crouch continues to find the ball, with only Tom Mitchell ranking higher for disposals in 2017. At Adelaide Oval, he averages 107 points from 11 games, with only Rory Sloane ranking higher. He has won 74 more disposals than any other Crows midfielder at home, also winning 36 more uncontested possessions.

Dan Hannebery – Sydney Swans – $14,250

With disposal hauls of 40, 37 and 31 respectively from his past three games against Adelaide, Hannebery enters the Draftstars mix this round. His career average of 29.8 disposals against the Crows is his highest against any AFL side, which adds even more to his appeal.

Midfielder/Forward

Jack Steele – St Kilda – $13,300

With nine scores of at least 90 points from 11 games at Etihad Stadium this year, Jack Steele is a sound choice in Round 22. Last time out against the Eagles, he finished with 26 disposals, 12 tackles and a season-high of 124 points. Steele averages 23 disposals, nine tackles and 98 points in wins at the venue.

Forwards

Jarryd Roughead – Hawthorn – $13,750

With a three-round average of 109 points, Jarryd Roughead is finishing the season off in style. This round’s clash at Etihad Stadium is the first for Hawthorn in 2017, with Roughead averaging 19 disposals, three goals and 89 points there when he last played in 2015.

Rucks

Sam Jacobs – Adelaide Crows – $13,650

With seven of Sam Jacobs’ eight 100+ points scores recorded at Adelaide Oval, this is the week to back big “Sauce” in. He continues to carry a big load in the ruck, attending the most ruck contests of any ruckman, while ranking No.1 for hitouts and fourth for disposals.
