AFL $50,000+ Tigers v Giants Line-Up
I am bloody excited for this one. Not just because there is $50,000 on offer in this contest, but because MY Tigers are playing for a spot in the Grand Final (yep, it was only a matter of time before I showed my true colours). It is set to be a Nathan Krakouer, and I suggest the result will be a bittt closer than the crowd numbers of the two teams…

Forward
Jack Riewoldt ($10,800)
It’s been a reasonable fortnight for the Tigers only forward over 175cm. Jack Riewoldt has churned out scores of 88 and 80, averaging 14 disposals and six marks per game. It was a stinking afternoon for him last time the two sides met, scoring just the 39 Draftstars points in the wet. With dry conditions forecast for Saturday evening, Riewoldt should pump out a worthy total for us.
Brett Deledio ($10,450)
Leon Cameron sent Brett Deledio to patrol across half-back last week and it worked wonders, despite the former Tiger ending on just 49 Draftstars points. He loved Richmond dearly during his time there but I doubt he will be holding back on Saturday evening. If anything, he will be going even harder to get his Giants over the line. Is a steal at that price.
Midfield
Dustin Martin ($15,250)
I would be happy if my firstborn loved me half as much as the Richmond faithful love Dusty. The Brownlow medallist (lock it in, you heard it here first) has posted six 110+ totals in his past eight matches, including a 116 point effort against the Giants at the ‘G. He also scored 116 against them earlier in the year, and we know how much Dusty loves Melbourne Cricket Ground and the big stage.
Josh Kelly ($14,450)
I have opted to go with two guns and two rookies in the midfield, as I don’t see how you can pass up a player like Kelly at $14.45k. The silky Giant is actually averaging 0.4 Draftstars points per game MORE than Dusty (113.7), a monster effort for a player at the peak of stardom. As we’ve said in these write-ups the past three weeks, there should be a Royal Commission into how his price has remained this low week after week Averaging 117 in his past three.
Jack Graham ($9,100)
Jack Graham couldn’t quite back up his two 84’s on the trot, posting 60 Draftstars points against the Cats a fortnight ago. Not a bad score considering he only collected nine disposals for the night. The thing with this hunk of a lad is he loves a tackle more than life itself. He is averaging nine tackles per game in his first three games of footy – that’s 36 Draftstars points for those of you playing along at home.
Matt de Boer ($8,150)
I love seeing this guy go about his business because what you see is what you get. De Boer wasn’t able to replicate his 97 Draftstars points against the Crows last week, posting an admirable 61 in the Giants big win. It is going to be a hot footy on Saturday evening, and I expect de Boer constrictor to be applying plenty of pressure – which means bulk tackles.
Defence
Nick Vlastuin ($11,350)
Similar to Kelly, I am just not sure how Nick Vlastuin manages to remain at such a low price despite consistently producing the goods. While his scoring certainly isn’t on the same level of Kelly’s, he has still been rather impressive, averaging 96 Draftstars points in his past four games. Vlastuin was superb against the Cats, taking a number of crucial intercept marks on his way to 107 points. Chuck him in.
Nathan Wilson ($9,400)
Nathan Wilson has had a solid Draftstars season, averaging just shy of 70 Draftstars points per game. His recent form hasn’t been too flash however, going at just 56 points in his past three. Wilson has fared pretty well against the Tigers this year though, posting scores of 86 and 77. The Giants will look to run Richmond off their feet, and Wilson is one man who can do just that.
Ruck
Rory Lobb ($10,800)
Rory Lobb played his first game (that I can recall, anyway) as the sole Giants ruckman last weekend and thrived. Up against Vardy and Petrie, Lobb won 39 hit-outs on his way to a formidable 90 Draftstars points. These two aren’t exactly the greatest tap ruckman in the league, but neither is Nankervis. Considering the Nank sits at a lofty $12.9k, Lobb is the obvious option here.
