NBA Thursday $20,000 Lineup Tips
We have reached the half way point of the season, with the contenders really starting to make their moves. The Celtics and Warriors are sitting pretty on top of their respective conferences. The Celtics and Warriors are sitting pretty on top of their respective conferences, with the Raptors and Rockets sitting behind them. After a poor start to the season, OKC have found their groove to now be sitting as the fifth seed in the West. They have won seven out of their last ten matches. Another team in a hot run are the Clippers. Ever since Blake Griffin has come back, the Clippers look a different team and are not racing up the table to be ninth. There are eleven matches to choose your teams from today with the highlights including the thunder taking on the Wolves as well as the Rockets taking on the Trail Blazers.
Here is a team you may consider for the NBA $20k+ Thursday competition
Point Guard
Jamal Murray ($10,900)
The Nuggets have been great at home this season, posting a 14-4 record, and face the worst team in the league, the Hawks. Murray has really lifted his game play recently, averaging eight DS points more than his season average over his past three matches. Murray is a promising young guard who should relish the opportunity to dominate against the Hawks.
Malcolm Brogdon ($9,550)
Last season’s Rookie of the Year has been suffering a little bit of the second year blues. Brogdon has been usurped in the starting lineup by high profile recruit, Eric Bledsoe, and has been fighting for minutes at times this season with other Bucks bench players. Brogdon has been elevated to the starting lineup due to the injury to Tony Snell, and is just starting to regain his consistency from last season. He looks like a good value option.
Shooting Guard
C.J. McCollum ($13,850)
With Dame Lillard most likely to miss this match, McCollum will have control of the Trail Blazer offense when they take on the Rockets. For as good as the Rockets have been offensively this season, they have really struggled to defend teams that can shoot from outside well. McCollum is a good shooter, especially from three point range, so he will get plenty of opportunities to score heavily against the Rockets.
Mario Hezonja ($9,000)
The former high draft pick has seen a bump in minutes due to an injured Jonathan Simmons, and has repaid the faith by posting two solid games. Hezonja should see more minutes in this match as the team is coming off back-to-back games. Hezonja is a player who has struggled to find his way in the league but he has shown glimpses of his promise this season. Hopefully he can put a few games together, starting with this one.
Small Forward
Gerald Green ($9,500)
Green has come out of nowhere recently and exploded into the Rockets rotation. His past four matches he has scored 27, 29, 15 and 22 points, and has provided an extra option for the Rockets while Harden has been injured. Green has earned himself a permanent roster spot on the Rockets and even though he will be coming off the bench, he should get plenty of time to score well.
Lance Thomas ($5,400)
Whilst Thomas is not the best fantasy option going around, he will continue to start for the Knicks while Tim Hardaway is injured. Thomas will be on the court for around 30 minutes, which gives him a good opportunity to score well. He has a very cheap salary, which allows you to fit other premium players into your team.
Power Forward
Harrison Barnes ($12,700)
Barnes has played at a solid level this season, despite the Mavericks struggling around him. The Mavs are in the midst of a rebuild and sit in 13th position in the West, but have a very winnable game against the Hornets. Across his last three matches, Barnes is averaging nearly 35 DS points. Look for Barnes to have another good game and finish with a good score.
Domantas Sabonis ($11,400)
With Myles Turner likely to miss, Sabonis will return to the starting lineup for the Pacers’ matchup with the Heat. Sabonis has been in great form off the bench, averaging 21 points and 6 rebounds across his last three matches. With a bump in minutes he will likely get, Sabonis can really score well against the Heat, he looks like a solid play for today’s matches.
Centre
Karl-Anthony Towns ($17,400)
Ever since he was dominated a month ago by fellow big man Joel Embiid, the KAT has bounced back in a big way. Towns has the potential to be the best big man in the league, but lacks the effort defensively to really elevate his status. It looks as though he is finally putting in the effort and it is showing in his game. His last three matches have been huge, averaging 22 points and 17 rebounds. Look for him to continue his impressive form against another young big man in Steven Adams as his Wolves take on the Thunder.
