AFL $100,000 EAGLES V BOMBERS
The massive prize pools keep on coming with another huge $100,000 up for grabs in what looks a really high-scoring contest.
With two taggers in play here the big questions need to be asked in the midfield first – who will Hutchings tag? Who will Clarke tag?
Questions need to also be asked around game flow – will the Eagles come out and absolutely smash the Bombers or will Essendon cause an upset?
Getting these questions right will go a very long way to cashing tonight – for what it’s worth our team below is being built around a dominant Eagles victory.
Here is my team you can consider using, or building around, for the $100,000 Eagles v Bombers contest.
FORWARD
Oscar Allen ($7,750): Will likely get an increased role tonight being backup ruckman and with three 70+ scores in last 4 weeks it is easy to take Allen as a cheap option that can hit value. Likely to get a matchup advantage in terms of height.
Jarrod Cameron ($5,000): Likely to be chalky. Will come in and play that small forward pressure role. We’re picking him for a few goals so hopefully he kicks them because his WAFL form is not great in terms of disposals (averaging 9 in 2019).
MIDFIELD
Jack Redden ($13,500): Love the Eagles midfield here, particularly Redden who is likely to have a big game for his 200th. Has a huge ceiling. Will be 50%+ though.
Elliot Yeo ($14,890): Comes back in and should impact immediately. Does it all, tackles, finds the footy, kicks goals. Has a great ceiling and is a natural pay-down for Gaff who is likely to cop the Clarke tag.
Luke Shuey ($14,060): Full-blow Eagles mid stack, hoping most teams don’t take all three guys and they all go 110+. Shuey is the biggest risk but I also think he is going to be the lowest owned.
Orazio Fantasia ($10,740): Our big midfield POD. It’s obviously a huge risk to take Fantasia but he can clear three figures at what would be a great price. Taking Fantasia and Cameron allows us to pick a really unique backline too for what is a pretty unique build overall.
DEFENDERS
Cale Hooker ($11,510): I can see the Eagles being dominant which I think will bring Hooker into the game a lot tonight. Can see a 100pt game and hopefully he and Hurely just kick it to each other switching play all night in an attempt to deny the Eagles the ball.
Michael Hurley ($12,360): See above. It’s an all-in type play and this two-man Bombers defence will be very unique, but they both have three-figure upside and are both great pivots away from Hurn. Bring those lateral / backward kicks all night!
RUCK
Tom Hickey ($9,540): Can’t believe i’m saying this but Hickey is the obvious play tonight. We’ve seen what he can do at his best when solo-rucking and Bellchambers is a ruckman who can make other ruckman look great. At home, with Nic Nat on the path to returning, Hickey simply must play well.
