AFL $25,000+ Sunday Line-Up

We haven’t had one of these in a while – a Draftstars Sunday. We have had single game contests on a Sunday the past few weeks, and it just hasn’t felt the same. As always with these day contests, there is no shortage of options on offer.

Here is a team you may consider for the AFL $25,000+ Sunday competition

Forward

Jack Billings ($12,700)

Jack Billings has been in some ridiculous form at Etihad recently. The emerging forward-mid has posted four tons from his past five games at the venue, averaging 110.4 Draftstars points during this period. Billings should have got greater reward for his efforts last weekend, kicking an inaccurate 2.4 on his way to 105 points from his 18 disposals. Up against an Ablett-less Suns at Etihad on Sunday, Billings could be in for a big haul of goals.

Rhys Stanley ($10,000)

Rhys Stanley has been named as #1 and sole ruck for this one. He comes up against first gamer Sean Darcy (who is also in this line-up) who he should dominate around the ground. He may not have the kid covered in the ruck, but I’d expect Rhys to be hitting a very promising total for us. Scored 88 points last week with Zac Smith in the side, so surely he goes bigger this week.

Midfield

Mitch Duncan ($14,950)

With Dangerfield under an injury cloud, Joel Selwood likely to cop the Connor Blakely tag and Scott Selwood playing off a torn hammie, all signs are pointing towards Mitch Duncan having a big game. The Cats midfielder has escaped much of the attention in Draftstars thanks to Dangerwoodwood, and I reckon many will be surprised to learn he is averaging a monster 115 points per game this season. Geelong to win comfortably, Duncan to have 30+. Done.

Sebastian Ross ($14,900)

Sebby Ross is becoming a Draftstars stalwart this season. The blond-bombshell has scored nine tons in his past 11 games, including five in a row. He is spending all of his time in the guts, which gives him ample opportunity to get possies and tackles. Ross’ game is Draftstars orientated, as he can’t get away from the footy at the moment.

Marc Murphy ($14,650)

With cheapies elsewhere, I thought I’d stack up my mid with yet another $14k+ midfielder in Marc Murphy. Murph has been an extremely consistent operator this Draftstars season, failing to score under 90 points for the entirety of 2017. Had a massive game against the Tigers in Round 1, gathering 35 disposals (including 21 kicks) and amassing 139 Draftstars points. I don’t think Richmond will look to lock him down considering Gibbs’ efforts last week, so he should deliver yet again.

Josh Deluca ($6,400)

Josh Deluca is one of the two Docker debutants on Sunday and is a noted ball-winner at WAFL level. Deluca has averaged 23 disposals and six tackles in his three games for Peel Thunder this season and now gets the opportunity to assert himself on the big stage. I reckon the 20-year old will be given opportunity through the midfield at times and should be able to give us a reasonable total for his cheap price.

Defence

Dylan Roberton ($12,650)

After a down game a fortnight ago, Dylan Roberton responded well, posting 102 Draftstars points at Etihad. He loves it under the dome, posting three tons and a 98 in his past five games there. It suits his mark and kick play well, and I’d say the Saints will be in control on Sunday. Is undervalued at $12.6k I feel and should rack ‘em up across half-back.

Luke Ryan ($7,200)

Luke Ryan scored pretty well in his second career game, collecting 13 disposals and six tackles en-route to 72 Draftstars points. The mature-age recruit is a noted intercept defender, and I’d say the ball will be in Fremantle’s back half more often than not on Sunday. Ryan will get plenty of opportunity to get his hands on the footy, and he remains at a discounted price of just over $7k.

Ruck

Sean Darcy ($6,450)

Sean Darcy also makes his AFL debut this weekend thanks to injuries to Jonathon Griffin and Aaron Sandilands. The boy out of the Geelong Falcons footy factory should be fairly settled at Simonds Stadium on the weekend. I’d say Darcy will be doing the majority of rucking on Sunday afternoon and should fare alright considering the kid already has a 110kg frame. Value here considering his price.
