AFL $30,000+ Crows v Giants Line-Up

The popular end-of-season bye has passed and it certainly wasn’t a buzzkill at all. We are itching for finals action after the week off, along with another tasty $30,000 Draftstars contest. Very even match-up here, with Rory Sloane being a massive non-selection for the Crows.

Here is a team you may consider for the AFL $30,000+ Crows v Giants competition

Forward

Brett Deledio ($11,100)

After a couple of weeks adjusting to the rigours of AFL footy, Deledio appears to be back to his usual scoring potential. Lids past two games have been promising, posting 82 Draftstars points against the Eagles and an impressive 102 points in the Giants’ loss to the Cats. He remains at a lower price due to two lower scores of 59 and 42 when he was eased back from injury. Difficult to ignore at that price.

Jeremy Cameron ($9,900)

Despite averaging 88 Draftstars points across the season, Jezza Cameron can be purchased for under $10k. His last three games have been fairly ordinary, going at just 66 points and booting just four goals – three of those coming in his last game against the Cats. I feel like we are taking a walk down value avenue here, considering Cameron booted four goals last time he played the Crows. Did I mention he has averaged 88 for the season??

Midfield

Josh Kelly ($14,550)

I reckon the price calculators at Draftstars have somehow missed Josh Kelly’s past month of footy. Kelly remains at an extremely affordable $14.55k despite averaging an enormous 119 Draftstars points over the past month. With Sloane out with injury, I’d expect Kelly to the be the highest scorer on the ground. Thrives in the big games and should rise for the occasion.

Hugh Greenwood ($11,750)

Hugh Greenwood was a shock omission for the Crows Round 23 dead-rubber against the Eagles. Or perhaps he was out with general soreness? Regardless, I can’t see the 25-year-old shying away in this contest. Always seems to score well (and lay bulk tackles) at Adelaide Oval, averaging 100 Draftstars points and nine tackles in his past four at the venue. Intensity will be up, so I expect to see Greenwood to be cracking in hunting the footy and the man on Thursday night.

Rory Atkins ($10,800)

Rory Atkins is another Crow who just can’t get enough of Adelaide Oval. However, his past two outings there have been pretty disappointing, posting totals of 61 and 60. Put on a show last time he faced the Giants, claiming 19 disposals and kicking three majors on his way to 114 Draftstars points. Is capable of this kind of display and is a very affordable option.

Matt De Boer ($7,500)

I have picked Matty De Boer a bit this year, mostly due to the fact I’ve splashed out on other players (oops). Now, he is genuinely playing for a position, with De Boer constrictor making way for livewire Stevie J. He is hungry at the best of times, but I reckon the former Docker will be absolutely relentless with his pressure on Thursday night – that means tackles. Should prove to be worth the investment.

Defence

Paul Seedsman ($12,200)

This is a bit of a risky selection considering his price, but we aren’t exactly spoilt for choice in defence for this contest. Seedsman returned to the Adelaide side for the final game of the season and held his spot with a fruitful 92 Draftstars points from his 25 touches. This was just his second game for the Crows for the season, so he will be fighting to remain in the line-up. Interestingly enough, this will be Seedman’s first AFL game at Adelaide Oval for the year.

Nathan Wilson ($10,150)

It is always dicey selecting this fella, as he is prone to the odd stinker. Wilson has been reasonable besides his last outing, though, posting four scores within the 74-86 bracket in five matches, His Round 23 effort is case in point of his risk, where he managed just 54 points. The Giants were outplayed in that encounter, and Thursday nights’ match should be a lot tighter. His teammates will look to use his dash on the run-and-gun Adelaide Oval.

Ruck

Shane Mumford ($11,900)

Shane Mumford is what you would call a finals player. He is the sort of bloke who will put his body on the line in the clinches, throwing his body around like a wrecking ball at stoppages. He is $1.2k cheaper than his opponent Sauce Jacobs, and while the Crow should beat him around the ground, I expect Mummy to win the hit-out battle and lay a heap of tackles.
