Here is a team you may consider for the AFL $30,000+ Saturday competition

Forward

Hugh Greenwood ($11,650)

Hugh Greenwood returns after missing a week due to being ‘rested’. He must’ve been a bit gassed from his emphatic effort three weeks ago, scoring 122 Draftstars points. Greenwood followed that up with just 12 disposals, managing to reach 66 points thanks to his nine tackles. In the hot, humid conditions at TIO Stadium, expect Greenwood to thrive. There will be plenty of repeat stoppages and I can see him getting plenty of tackles and a lot of inside footy.

Daniel Menzel ($9,800)

I have chucked Daniel Menzel in here a few times but he has rarely produced the goods. His recent form is reason to give him a go however, posting two 80+ efforts in his past two games. Menzel was a late, late out in the warmup against the Giants, and he also missed last weeks demolition of the Lions. Against a young and inexperienced Hawks defence, Menzel should be able to get on the end of a few.

Midfield

Josh P. Kennedy ($15,200)

Josh Kennedy was a late out last week but returns for the Swans’ important clash against the Giants. The match will certainly be a close contest, and I reckon JPK’s influence in the middle will be vital to Sydney getting the chocolates. Has hit the ton in his past seven games, and I’d back him to pump out another one on Saturday night.

Adam Treloar ($14,350)

By Adam Treloar’s own admission, he played “horrendous” last weekend against the Bombers. His Draftstars’ score reflects that statement, scoring just the 57 Draftstars points – well below his seasonal average of 109.4. This score has also forced his price to plummet to $14,300, which is just too good to refuse for a man who generally brings his own footy. It’ll be a scrappy game at Metricon on Saturday, which will suit Treloar just fine.

Matthew White ($9,250)

Matthew White was very poor last weekend, registering just the 41 Draftstars points in the Power’s win over the Eagles. White had scored 93 and 85 in his previous two games though, showing that he has the potential to get to reasonable totals. He comes up against the Roos on Saturday afternoon who are notorious for their lack of outside speed. And what is Matty White renowned for? Bingo. Should have some impact, especially as the Power should win comfortably.

Alex Sexton ($9,250)

Alex Sexton has been a real mixed bag this season for the Suns. Sexton has posted seven 80+ totals, but has also fallen below 50 Draftstars points seven times. This is including a rank 29 against the Power. Yuck. His last two weeks have been promising though, scoring 87 and 113 last week including 22 kicks and 13 marks. Worth the punt I reckon.

Defence

Zac Williams ($10,750)

Zachary Williams is a welcome addition to the Giants line-up, and I reckon he will fit in nicely into our Draftstars lineups. Williams managed two dismal totals before his injury, scoring 61 and 45 in his past two games. This has brought his price down to a meagre $10,750, which screams value for a bloke who scored a monster 131 the week before this slump. The Giants love the ball in his hands.

Mitchell Hibberd ($7,050)

Mitchell Hibberd was a no-go zone before last weekend producing scores of 43 and 24 in his first two AFL games. Not anymore. Hibberd won 22 disposals against the Dockers and took seven marks on his way to 87 Draftstars points. The youngster has been a fair ball-winner across defence in the VFL, and this appears to be showing through at the highest level. You could do worse at $7k.

Ruck

Max Gawn ($12,500)

Max Gawn was sent to the cleaners by Matty Kreuzer last week despite amassing 38 hit-outs. Gawn looked a shadow of himself, managing just eight disposals on his way to 76 Draftstars points. Sam Jacobs was average against Jordan Roughead last week, so by that logic Gawn should beat him comfortably. Gawny loves playing in hot, humid conditions and I reckon he will rake in a ridiculous amount of hit-outs on Saturday.
