AFL $30,000+ Saturday Line-Up

I have really put my eggs in one basket with this contest. That would be the understatement of the century, considering I have selected FIVE Port Adelaide players for this daily contest. Oh, and two Swans players. Doesn’t leave a lot of room for anyone else, but Sydney and Port should dominate their respective opponents in Carlton and Gold Coast. Take note.

Here is a team you may consider for the AFL $30,000+ Saturday competition

Forward

Paddy Ryder ($13,100)

Paddy Ryder was in full flight last week against Jordan Roughead last weekend. The big man is in All-Australian form, and dominated on Mars with 55 hit-outs and two goals on his way to a formidable total of 115. He faces Keegan Brooksby this week, who I wouldn’t even consider as a ruckman. Should be a hit-out fest for Ryder against the Suns.

Karl Amon ($9,800)

I have thrown Karlos Amon into the mix considering the Power are likely to win comfortably. Amon is at this price due to a very average patch but he has bounced back in recent weeks, posting scores of 78 and 82 in the past fortnight. He is one of the Power players who thrives against lesser opposition, and I expect him to produce the goods on Saturday night.

Midfield

Chad Wingard ($12,550)

Chad Wingard has had some monster efforts this season, with all five of his Draftstars tons surpassing the 120 point mark. Three of those have been in his past six games, with whopping scores of 121, 136 and 141 coming against Collingwood, North Melbourne and Richmond respectively. These were also his last three games at Adelaide Oval, where he plays the lowly Suns this weekend. I’m no rocket scientist, but this sounds like a pretty obvious selection to me.

Isaac Heeney ($12,450)

Isaac Heeney is another who comes to the party in shellacking’s of opposition sides. The Heen-machine hasn’t been at his dynamic best lately, but he has still averaged 91 Draftstars points over his past three matches. The Swans face the Blues on Saturday who they really ought to put to the sword, and I can see Heeney racking up big numbers.

Jared Polec ($11,400)

I generally look to Jared Polec when he is playing average opposition, but last week he posted a good score against a competitive side. Who would have thought? Polec gathered 23 disposals and laid seven tackles (surely a career high) against the Bulldogs on his way to raising his bat for 101 Draftstars points. This bodes well for him considering his bread and butter is usually putting the cellar-dwellers to the sword. Worth the punt at $11.4k.

Sam Powell-Pepper ($9,450)

We went with Sam Powell-Pepper last week in the Saturday write-up and he didn’t disappoint, scoring 85 Draftstars points including a whopping 12 tackles. The Powe’s matchup with the Suns will most likely be a bruise free affair, but it also gives SPP the opportunity to get his hands on the footy. Remains at this price after his mare of a Showdown (16 points). Looked refreshed off a break last week, so he should provide some more value.

Defence

Zak Jones ($10,350)

Zak Jones generally doesn’t pull two 80+ games together, but he has been able to do so over the past fortnight. Jones has reached scores of 82 and 94 against Adelaide and Fremantle, two completely different games in terms of difficulty. This Saturday should be similar to Sydney’s annihilation of the Dockers two weeks ago, meaning it should be relatively easy pickings for Jonesy.

Jake Kolodjashnij ($8,700)

Jake Kola… Kolajdh, Kolabsdwrkcgsdv. Jake has really lifted his Draftstars relevance in recent weeks, finding more of the footy for the Cats. The youngster is averaging 75 Draftstars points across his past three, and even eclipsed the 20 disposal mark for a score of 81 a fortnight ago. He looks to be choc-full of confidence and at his current price, he presents definite value if can hit that 70+ mark.

Ruck

Shane Mumford ($12,000)

Shane Mumford comes in at a cheaper price-tag after a rather disappointing performance against the Eagles last week. Mummify managed just the 66 Draftstars points including a whopping six frees against (and no frees for) against the Eagles weak ruck stocks. Mumford should bounce back against Zac Smith, who was beaten convincingly last week by Mason Cox. Mason Cox for Christ’s sake… Should deliver.
