Here is a team you may consider for the AFL $30,000+ Sunday competition

Forward

Lance Frankin ($12,350)

I have to come clean. Last week, I proclaimed that Buddy was a chance to kick ten against the young Blues defence, and he ended up snagging just the solitary goal… He was towelled by Alex Silvagni. I was wrong. However, this week is a new week, and I am sure Buddy will be absolutely filthy about his 69 Draftstars points against Carlton. He comes up the youth-filled Lion defence this weekend at the SCG, so surely he has a big one. Surely.

Harvey Balic ($8,600)

Balic looks to be a handy youngster for the Fremantle side. The 19-year-old has averaged 66 Draftstars and 14 disposals in his three matches to date, and has improved each game. Balic was one of the Dockers’ highest scorers last weekend, scoring 91 in the Western Derby. A good cheap option who Ross Lyon rates (Lyon having faith in a youngster? No way!), considering he came straight back in after a week out with a hip injury.

Midfield

Tom Mitchell ($16,350)

I feel like Draftstars is designed exactly for Tom Mitchell’s game. Mitchell racks up pill and tackles ferociously every week, averaging 34 disposals, seven tackles and a whopping 123 points this season. The plus with Mitchell is he’s playing a lone hand in the Hawthorn midfield, with no other teammate getting close to his numbers. The other plus is that no side will bother tagging him (I hope) because he isn’t very damaging with his disposal. Can’t see the Dees locking him down on Sunday, either.

Nat Fyfe ($13,200)

Wait… Am I seeing straight? Nat Fyfe sitting at $13,200? My head nearly hit the roof seeing him at this low low price. Fyfe has averaged 97 Draftstars points this season, well below what we know Nathaniel is capable of. The Bombers looked pretty shaky against the Dees last weekend, and the Dockers beat the Dees. So logically, Fremantle should beat Essendon? Footy lacks logic, but I see Fyfe as a logical selection considering his tempting price tag.

Christian Petracca ($10,150)

A star of the future, Petracca has started the year in fairly good knick. The former #2 draft pick has averaged 80 Draftstars points per game, with just two scores under that mark. Unfortunately, these two totals have been in his last two games. Fortunately, this has caused his price to drop, making him a handy selection at a touch over 10k. I expect Petracca to bounce back against the Hawks, with the Dees likely to get the chocolates.

David Myers ($8,400)

This guy is what Draftstars dreams are made of. Having played just two AFL games due to injury and WADA suspension, David Myers is back in the Essendon line-up after some impressive VFL form. Myers was a very respectable point scorer in his last full season, averaging 81 Draftstars points per game. This selection has ‘lock’ written all over it.

Defence

Zak Jones ($11,500)

Zak Jones started the year around the $9k mark and has been a fairly reliable selection for Draftstars regulars. Jones has averaged 82 Draftstars points per game, biding his time across half-back with stints through the midfield. Has hit 90+ scores in his past two and shouldn’t have much trouble doing the same against the Lions. If Swans go 0-7, I’ll eat my hat.

Jarrod Berry ($6,400)

Jarrod Berry has been putting out some very ordinary fantasy scores since he debuted, scoring as low as 22 Draftstars points against the Bulldogs a fortnight ago. Berry put in a decent showing last weekend though, gathering 16 disposals and laying seven tackles to post a total of 68. A first round draftee, I think Berry will build on this effort and should continue to pull out these sort of scores.

Ruck

Ben McEvoy ($12,650)

While the Hawks have been dismal over the first six rounds, Big Boy McEvoy has been rather impressive. McEvoy has averaged 92 Draftstars points per game in 2017, scoring tons in his last three matches. He comes up against meagre opposition on Sunday afternoon, with Cam Pedersen tasked with the ruck duties for the injury cursed Demons. A three round average of 111 points has me watering at the mouth, along with the fact he scored 129 against West Coast’s second rate line-up a fortnight ago. Should go ‘nanas at the ‘G.
