AFL $50,000+ SATURDAY

With weather likely to impact scoring in some games we are picking two sublime scoring spots and stacking big time today.

The Lions are in a prime smash spot against the Suns who have next to no key defence whilst the Bulldogs are back at their favoured Marvel track sans Libba and Daniel so today is pretty simple for us, take Bulldogs engine room and Lions forwards.

Here is my team you can consider using, or building around, for today’s Saturday slate.

FORWARD

Eric Hipwood ($8,570): The Suns are so short on key defenders they have plucked a rookie from Cairns who is averaging about 2 kicks a game in the NEAFL. Not sure who will get Hipwood today but I expect Ballard is the one who will have the speed so there is a 5-6 goal game here for Hipwood if he wants it.

Cam Raynor ($6,430): Raynor has been in rubbish form but he did kick 3 goals against the Suns earlier this season and he does love a downhill ski so I’m prepared at this price to put him in. Hoping for a 2-3 goal 60+.

MIDFIELD

Jack Macrae ($16,410): Without Daniel and with no Libba Macrae will need to be at his ball-finding best tonight which means he can be relied on to clear 120. Potentially can pay that price tag off, the Dons wont tag him either. Hoping the price tag keeps people away.

Josh Dunkley ($16,270): Smashing the Dogs engine room is always a sound strategy because they can junk up like few midfields when on. Dons are on the crest of a slump too and again with no Caleb Daniel getting his 30 across half back, Dunkley, Hunter (below) and co all get a sizeable stat bump here.

Lachie Neale ($15,060): Could cop Miller tag but most likely Touk will go to his old buddy Zorko which will leave Neale to rack up 30+, have his 6 tackle and kick a goal for a 110+ return. Don’t love the price tag but he is pretty dependable for a decent three figure game here.

Lachie Hunter ($12,200): Hunter has 150+ upside at his best and at Marvel, sans Daniel, he could very well be at his best up and down that wing all night. Often drops back to the back pocket to fill the stat sheet in games where Daniel is not lurking there already.

DEFENDERS

Taylor Duryea ($10,100): Kind of a defensive selection here, I think Duryea’s floor is very high at around 75pts whilst his ceiling could receive a big bump from the outs for the Dogs we’ve spoken about. Injury label only makes me want to pick him more.

Jacob Heron ($5,700): Heron has returned 10X value in 3 of his 4 games and he comes back in to a big gabba deck where he can easily reach value again. Just want a 50-60 from him.

RUCK

Tim English ($9,310): Was really tempted to go McInerny here and if im playing two teams i would, but Tim English is in a pretty good spot here against two rubbish rucks that he can burn on the spread. Can see a 25 hitout, 15 disposal, 5 tackle, 5 mark 100pt game from the young big tonight.
