Looking to bolster your own line-up? Here’s a few best buys to consider.

Defenders

Michael Hibberd – Melbourne – $13,750

With Melbourne ranking second in the AFL for disposals and uncontested possessions per game, picking Michael Hibberd should pay dividends in Draftstars. The Demons also play on after a mark the second-most of any side, and attacking players like Hibberd are important. He averages 29 disposals and 92 points at the MCG in 2017.

Rory Laird – Adelaide Crows – $13,050

It was an uncharacteristic display from Rory Laird last week against the Cats, scoring a season-low 65 points. He returns to Adelaide Oval this round, a venue he averages a career-high 33 disposals and 108 points at this year. Laird has topped 100 points in four of six home games.

Dylan Roberton – St Kilda – $12,750

With Adelaide ranking third for inside 50 differentials this season, St Kilda is likely to be under the pump on Friday night. This brings Dylan Roberton into the mix in Draftstars. He’s one of the most-improved players in the league this season, averaging a career-high 105 points – up from only 69 in 2016.

Midfielders

Gary Ablett – Gold Coast Suns – $17,250

No player in the competition has averaged more disposals against Hawthorn since 2010 than Gary Ablett’s 38. This includes racking up 40+ disposals in four of 10 games over this period, with his 45 in Round 15 of 2014 his highest return. Ablett returned from a shoulder injury last week.

Rory Sloane – Essendon – $16,600

With Adelaide expected to bounce back after last round’s loss against Geelong, Rory Sloane picks himself in Draftstars this week. He has been dominant in its five wins at Adelaide Oval this season, averaging 30 disposals, two goals, seven tackles and a massive 132 points.

Dayne Zorko – Brisbane Lions – $15,700

Even with the return of former skipper Tom Rockliff, Dayne Zorko presents tremendous value in Draftstars this round. Averaging 25 disposals and 110 points at the Gabba in 2017, he has played two career games there against Fremantle, scoring 132 and 100. You can pick him with plenty of confidence.

Bernie Vince – Melbourne – $11,600

Currently in the midst of a form slump, scoring 59, 55 and 68 points respectively from his past three games, Vince doesn’t look like an attractive fantasy prospect. He does have a terrific record against Collingwood in Round 12 games though, racking up 120 and 134 points from his past two outings.

Midfielder/Forward

Michael Barlow – Gold Coast Suns – $14,150

Michael Barlow has a terrific record at the MCG across his career, averaging 27 disposals, six tackles and 109 points from 11 games. In his most recent game there in 2016 as a Fremantle player, he finished with 31 disposals, six tackles, four marks and a solid 107 points.

Forwards

Tom Lynch – Adelaide Crows – $12,800

A key player in Adelaide’s ball movement, Lynch was one of few winners last week against Geelong, scoring 90 points. He has been an inconsistent scorer at Adelaide Oval in 2017, but he is capable of hitting 100+ points. Lynch has averaged 19 disposals and 1.2 goals at home this year.

Rucks

Sam Jacobs – Adelaide Crows – $14,300

Sam Jacobs’ form at Adelaide Oval has been exceptional, scoring 108, 158, 132 and 104 points in that order from his past four games. He has dominated in his past two games against St Kilda, amassing 23 and 24 disposals, scoring 112 and 134 points in that order. He’s the must-have ruckman for Round 12.
