Defender

Sam Docherty – Carlton – $15,850

With only three scores below 100 points all season, one of which was against this round’s opponent Essendon in Round 3, Docherty remains the No.1 defensive choice in Draftstars. He has dominated in his past four MCG matches, scoring 126, 132, 152 and 111 points in that order.

Michael Hurley – Essendon – $13,850

With three scores of 110+ points from his past four games, Hurley is in the mix for selection this round. Despite scoring a season-low 64 points against Carlton in Round 3, a match that was played at ground level due to heavy rain, Hurley has a five-round average of 104 points.

Luke Ryan – Fremantle – $12,200

Ryan returned to action last round against the Giants and was prominent in defence, finishing with 25 disposals, 14 marks and a game-high 138 points. With Connor Blakely and Lee Spurr both sidelined, the Dockers will look to use Ryan at every opportunity in defence this week against Gold Coast.

Midfielders

Dayne Beams – Brisbane Lions – $15,700

With Dayne Zorko suspended and Tom Rockliff continuing to struggle, it was left to Beams to carry the midfield load in Round 19, scoring 144 points against West Coast. His three-round average of 127 points ranks No.1 in the competition, making him a must-have buy in Draftstars this week.

Nat Fyfe – Fremantle – $15,200

On the back of a season-high 120 points last round against the Giants, Fyfe once again enters our thoughts in Draftstars. His form across the past month has been outstanding, averaging 29 disposals, five tackles and 107 points. A clash against the struggling Suns awaits him in Round 20.

Sebastian Ross – St Kilda – $14,000

Ross continues to fly the flag for the Saints, adding a further 109 points to his season tally last round. He has finished in the top three St Kilda scorers in 11 games already this season, ranked No.1 at the club and three more than anyone else. Ross leads the club for points scored at Etihad Stadium.

Joel Selwood – Geelong Cats – $13,700

Selwood has often saved his best performances for Simonds Stadium. He faces the Swans there on Friday night, a venue he has already scored 116, 122 and 117 in his full matches. Selwood has also averaged 29 disposals and 115 points from his past seven games against Sydney.

Midfielder/Forward

Dom Sheed – West Coast Eagles – $12,350

The absence of Sam Mitchell and Matt Priddis in recent weeks has enabled Sheed to be more prominent, scoring 102 points in each of his past two games. Adam Simpson has handed him a lot more responsibility since Round 14, ranking third at the club for centre bounces.

Forwards

Joe Daniher – Essendon – $12,650

With only Lance Franklin recording more shots at goal than Daniher this season, he will be looking to build on last round’s 127 points against the Bulldogs. He recorded a season-high 11 shots at goal, finishing with 18 disposals, 11 marks and an equal season-high six goals.

Rucks

Stefan Martin – Brisbane Lions – $14,050

Martin scored 100+ points last round for the first time since Round 14, taking advantage of West Coast’s depleted ruck stocks. When he last faced the Bulldogs at the Gabba in 2015, he finished with 32 disposals, seven marks, 50 hitouts and a mammoth 152 points.
