Looking to bolster your own line-up? Here’s a few best buys to consider.

Defenders

Rory Laird – Adelaide Crows – $15,600

With an average of 34 disposals and 114 points at Adelaide Oval this season, it’s hard to overlook Laird in Draftstars this round. He ranks second at the Crows behind Rory Sloane for points scored at home, collecting 110 in three of his four games. Make him a priority!

Zach Tuohy – Geelong Cats – $14,000

A switch to the Cats has Tuohy producing career-best numbers, averaging 27 disposals, 19 uncontested possessions and 97 points. He leads the club for kicks, while only Mitch Duncan ranks higher at the Cats for handball-receives. Expect another decent haul on the weekend.

Matthew Scharenberg – Collingwood – $7,400

Scharenberg is in the selection mix for the Magpies after a solid month in the VFL. He dominated on the weekend, finishing with 34 disposals, 13 marks and 137 points. He’s nicely priced in Draftstars and should reward you with a decent score. Scharenberg has scored 73 and 78 points from his past two games in the AFL.

Forwards

Isaac Heeney – Sydney Swans – $14,900

Heeney once again makes an appearance in the best buys after scoring 102 points last week against the Lions, of which 58 were recorded in the first term alone. A midfield role adds even more to his appeal, ranking third at the club for centre bounce attendances since Round 6.

Midfielder/Forward

Elliot Yeo – West Coast Eagles – $15,050

West Coast players relish playing in front of its home crowd at Domain Stadium, and Yeo is one player to target this round with a clash against the Bulldogs on the horizon. He averages 124 points at home this year, which includes collecting 152 in his most recent outing in the Derby.

Shaun Higgins – North Melbourne – $12,450

Higgins is the only Kangaroos player to average in excess of 100 points at Etihad Stadium this season. He’s nicely priced in Draftstars, scoring 117 points in his most recent game at the venue in Round 6. Higgins is playing the role of a permanent midfielder in 2017 – averaging a career-high 23 disposals.

Midfielders

Tom Rockliff – Brisbane Lions – $17,250

I’m expecting another massive point haul from Rockliff this round as the Lions head to Launceston. With the highest expected score of any player for the round, the last time he played in Tasmania, he recorded 45 disposals, 14 tackles and 159 points. Rockliff ranks No.1 in the competition for points scored this season.

Taylor Adams – Collingwood – $16,450

Adams has been the most reliable scorer at Collingwood this season, recording 60 more points than any Magpie. With only two sub 100-point returns, he has collected 130+ on three occasions. Adams will be looking forward to facing former side GWS Giants this round – scoring 146 and 104 points from his two games against them.

Patrick Cripps – Carlton – $15,000

Cripps has an outstanding record against this week’s opponent St Kilda, averaging 30 disposals, eight tackles and 117 points from three matches. This makes him a valuable commodity in Draftstars, especially after scoring 121, 117 and 100 in that order since Round 5.

Rucks

Stefan Martin – Brisbane Lions – $14,150

Martin has only played one career game in Launceston, finishing with 23 disposals, 40 hitouts and 107 points in 2015. With the Hawks, currently the fifth-easiest side to win a hitout against this season, he should get the better of Ben McEvoy at ruck contests as well as around the ground.
