NBA $20,000 Thursday Lineup Tips

We are rapidly approaching the half way point of the NBA season and it is really starting to take shape. As everyone predicted at the start of the season, the Rockets, Warriors, Celtics and Cavaliers occupy the top two spots in each conference. And as I’m sure we all did not predict, the three team with the longest win streaks currently are the Rockets, Warriors and the Bulls. That’s right, the worst the in the league, the Chicago Bulls are on a six game win streak, and they have every opportunity to make it seven in a row as they go up against the out of sorts Magic. There are twelve matches to choose your teams from today with the highlight being Portland taking on the Spurs.

Here is a team you may consider for the NBA $20k+ Thursday competition

Point Guard

Damian Lillard ($16,900)

Dame has been in red hot form recently and is a massive reason why the Trail Blazers are sitting in fifth spot in the west. Lillard is an electrifying point guard who can be a lethal outside shooter on his day. He is also guilty sometimes of spraying shots. Lillard and his Blazers host the Spurs who are sitting pretty in third place in the western conference, so it is going to be tough match, but Lillard is a big game place who will rise to the occasion in this match.

Tyler Johnson ($8,650)

With an injury to Goran Dragic and Dion Waiters under an injury cloud, Johnson looked set to see increased minutes against the Celtics. Johnson is a handy shooter who is a serviceable bench player for the Heat. Increasing his minutes will help his ability to score. Johnson looks like a nice value option.

Shooting Guard

Yogi Ferrell ($9,250)

Yogi has been reinstated to the starting lineup which has seen a big boost in his production. An Injury to Dennis Smith Jr. means that Yogi is the main man running the offense and now is a great time to pick him before his salary reflects his increased role.

David Nwaba ($7,550)

The Bulls are flying. Winning their last six in a row and looking like a totally different team. They have changed their lineup around trying to find a combination that works and they have found their winning one. That includes Nwaba as a starting wing. Nwaba is a good defender and limited scorer, but he gets good court time and that is the most important stat on Draftstars.

Small Forward

Taurean Prince ($11,250)

Prince has been great for the Hawks this year as they are in the midst of a rebuild. The second year player has been one of the shining lights for the Hawks this season, contributing at both ends of the court. Price and the Hawks take on the red hot Pacers in what should be a comfortable loss, but a high scoring game.

Bogdan Bogdanovic ($8,200)

The Kings are on back to back road games and are flying after knocking off the Sixers. Bogdanovic is one of their many players who is in a constant fight for minutes as they try to settle on their best lineup. Bogdanovic only played 18 minutes against the Sixers, so he should be fresh for their match against the Nets. Look for an increase in minutes and output for Bogdanovic.

Power Forward

Al Horford ($14,550)

Big Al is in cracking form for the high flying Celtics, averaging over 40 DS points in his previous three matches. Horford was one assist away from a Triple-Double in his last match against the Pacers, leading the team to a last second win. Horford has a great matchup against the Heat who are missing their star big man Hassan Whiteside. Horford should be able to dominate the boards and score at will from the post. Expect a big score.

Willie Cauley-Stein ($9,400)

Cauley-Stein is an elusive talent who has shown glimpses of brilliance, but also large patches of mediocrity. He gets a great matchup against the Nets who have battled against all big men this year. Cauley-Stein is a physical monster, he is the same height as Kristaps Porzingis, but just needs to put it all together. Hopefully this is the game.

Centre

Clint Capela ($14,150)

The Swiss Prince is playing in career best form in a team that is absolutely flying. Capela is a great role player, he only does what he is good at, defence, rebounding and monster alley-oops. Capela has been shooting at over 80% from the field in his last five matches, culminating in a dominant 24 point, 20 rebound match against the Jazz. He goes up against the Lakers who struggle defending big men, expect his hot form to continue.
