NBA $30,000 Thursday Lineup Tips

Another week of NBA has passed and some of the stars of the league have started to make statements. James Harden dropped 56 points against Utah, LeBron put up 57 points against the Wizards and Kristaps Porzingis helped himself to 40 against the Pacers. We are now over 10% of the way through the season, so all the cobwebs should be well and truly blown out and the cream should start to rise to the top. The big off court news this week is the trade of Eric Bledsoe to the Bucks. Bledsoe is a great point guard who should really help the young Bucks who are looking like they can mount a serious challenge in the East. Today’s NBA sees five matches being played, with the highlight being the red hot Warriors taking on the Timberwolves. Tip-off is at 11.00am AEDT, so make sure your entries are in by then.

Here is a team you may consider for the NBA $30k+ Thursday competition

Point Guard

Goran Dragic ($12,950)

Dragic and his Heat take on the Phoenix Suns in what should be a high scoring game between two struggling teams. Dragic is a good point guard who shoots the ball a lot, perhaps too much, so hopefully he gets a lot of open looks against one of the league’s worst defenses.

Jarrett Jack ($5,000)

Jack continues to be the starting point guard for the Knicks and continues to carry the lowest salary on Draftstars. Jack is good at getting 15-20 DS points, which lays a good foundation for the rest of your team, and his cheap salary allows you to fit in better players at other positions.

Shooting Guard

Tim Hardaway Jr ($10,900)

Hardaway Jr was a big money signing for the Knicks in the offseason and is proving that he is worth the money, with strong early season form. Hardaway has scored over 40 DS points twice so far this season including a huge 57.25 DS points against the Cavaliers. Hardaway should be able to continue this form against the Magic, who have lost their last two matches.

Brandon Ingram ($10,600)

The former number two draft pick look to have turned a corner this year and is showing signs of rapid improvement. Ingram is getting a lot of looks this year, especially in clutch moments and is working harder on defense especially with his rebounding. Ingram was poor in his rookie year, and is still underrated due to that fact, he could be a nice point of difference for your lineup.

Small Forward

Devin Booker ($12,700)

Booker recently became the fourth youngest player in NBA history to score 3,000 career points (behind LeBron, Durant and Carmelo Anthony). The prolific youngster will continue to dominate the Suns offense, which is great for his Draftstars output. Booker takes on the Heat, who are poor defensively, so he has every chance of going large today. He looks to be a safe play.

Evan Fournier ($11,750)

After a great stars to the season, Fournier had a shocker against the Celtics, shooting at 2/14 from the field on his way to 12 DS points. He should be able to bounce back against the Knicks who are not as good defensively as the Celtics. Before his last match, Fournier had been in great form, scoring at least 20 points in all bar one his matches this season. Look for him to get back to his previous form and score well against the Knicks.

Power Forward

Tobias Harris ($11,800)

Harris has been red hot so far this season and he is a big part of the reason that the Pistons are sitting second in the eastern conference. Harris is averaging 19.7 points per match, and 30.1 DS points per match, which are both career highs. Harris should be able to continue his hot form against the Pacers who have been surprisingly good this year.

Taj Gibson ($8,900)

Gibson has been a perfect fit for the Timberwolves this year, focusing mainly on defense and rebounding. Gibson should be able to have a good day against the Warriors as their main defensive weapon, Draymond Green will have to guard Karl-Anthony towns, leaving Gibson with a mismatch of Pachulia or McGee. Gibson is a great cheaper option for today’s matches.

Centre

Hassan Whiteside ($15,150)

Whiteside has had a slow start to the season after being injured for a couple of weeks. He is back healthy now and building his minutes up. Whiteside will be keen to bounce back after a poor game against the Warriors, but he gets the perfect opportunity to against the Suns. Whiteside is the best rebounding centre in the league and he should be able to dominate in the paint in this match.
