Here are our value players for the NFL $17,500+ Monday competition

Quarterback

Derek Carr ($10,550)

Derek Carr’s salary seems very cheap for a good player with a good matchup. Carr and his Raiders take on New England whose defense is very poor. The Patriots have given up over 200 passing yards in all bar one game this season and have given up over 300 yards five times. Carr should be able to get the ball to his explosive receivers at will and post some big numbers. How his salary is below Ryan Fitzpatrick, Brock Osweiler, Eli Manning and Brett Hundley is astonishing.

Running Back

Leonard Fournette ($16,000)

The Jaguars rookie has been huge this season, often carrying his offense due to their inept passing attack. Fournette has already run for over 500 yards this season and if it wasn’t for the exceptional play of Kareem Hunt he would be a real chance for offensive rookie of the year. Fournette comes up against the Browns this week who continue to really struggle, which means that the Jaguars should be ahead for most of the game and running the football. Fournette should be used a lot and he could be in for a huge day.

Running Back

Alfred Morris ($6,000)

With the suspension of star Running Back, Ezekiel Elliot, Alfred Morris will take the majority of carries for the Cowboys rushing attack. The Cowboys still have a formidable offensive line, so Morris should still be able to run the ball and for a salary of $6,000, Morris seems like great value. Look for Morris to be highly owned, but also a good scorer.

Wide Receiver

Michael Thomas ($15,900)

The New Orleans Saints are absolutely flying this season. The perennial underachievers have finally put together a team that is capable of challenging. Michael Thomas is a big part of the team. He is an explosive wide receiver who complements star QB Drew Brees perfectly. He has a tough matchup against star cornerback Josh Norman this week, but should still be able to score well.

Wide Receiver

Larry Fitzgerald ($14,000)

The future hall of famer is continuing his remarkable longevity this season to be Arizona’s leading receiver again. Fitzgerald caught ten balls for 113 yards last week against Seattle and now gets a much easier matchup against the Texans. He should be able to continue his good form here and record another big score.

Tight End

Travis Kelce ($12,400)

Kelce is the lock of the week. The New York Giants have struggled to defend against Tight Ends all year due to their injury problems at linebacker. Kelce is one of the best in the league in the position and he should be able to have a monster game here. Once again, expect Kelce to be highly owned, but a great scorer.

Flex

Joe Mixon ($11,250)

Mixon and his Bengals take on the Broncos who look as though their season has just crumbled. One of the league’s best defenses has given up 90 points in two weeks, most of which have come from good Running Backs. The Eagles torched the Broncos on the ground and the Patriots torched the Broncos with their receiving backs. The Bengals will go a long way to winning this game if they follow this formula, so hopefully Mixon can capitalise.

Flex

Martellus Bennett ($5,750)

The Marty Bennett saga has been volatile over the past couple of weeks. He was injured for the year, then he was cut from the Packers, now he is back healthy and firing for the Patriots. He has had a week to relearn the playbook and should be ready to go for the match against the Raiders. He is still very cheap, so looks like a great value pick for this week.

Defense

Jacksonville Jaguars ($7,850)

The league’s best defense, the Jacksonville Jaguars, take on the winless Browns which should be a bloodbath. The Jags should be able to dominate the Browns on the side of the ball and they are a clear pick for the defense position this week.
