Fox Sports: $30k Thursday Fever
THIS IS SOME SLATE.
Ten games all up… and most are predicted to travel well over the 200 total points mark.
Welcome to the Best Buys.
11:00am (AET): BOS @ ORL // DET @ CHA
11:30am: DEN @ BKN // MIA @ ATL
12:00pm: CLE @ NY // LAL @ HOU // POR @ MIL
12:30pm: SAC @ DAL
1:00pm: IND @ PHO
2:00pm: GS @ LAC
BACKING UP: Orlando, Knicks, Miami, Detroit, Pheonix
Lakers @ Houston
While the Rockets are favoured, let’s hope these two up-tempo outfits can go blow-for-blow an evenly matched shootout. Star Laker D’Angelo Russell is still out, keeping the lucrative Lou Williams ($8,950) front of mind.
And is this a James Harden game? Yes, yes it is – there’s no one defensively capable of going with him. But here’s the issue: with a whopping $25K price tag, Harden’s draftability is up for debate, given the blowout potential. Conclusion: It’s likely the wiser investment can be found in New York.
Cleveland @ Knicks
The Rose injury will see others flower: Brandon Jennings ($8,200) will spend more time in the New York backcourt, Knicks stars Kristaps Porzingas ($12,800) and Carmelo Anthony ($14,300) will see additional usage offensively.
Golden State @ Clippers
What a fun rivalry encounter this promises to be. Klay Thompson’s coming off a ceiling game (68.75 points // $11,600), but Chris Paul and the Clippers may ice the hot hand and ensure their opposition guards stay quiet, throwing shade over Klay and Steph Curry’s ‘Splash’ likelihood.
POINT GUARD / SHOOTING GUARD
Reggie Jackson, DET ($7,900 PG/SG) @ CHA
Jackson got straight down to business in his season debut, and despite a minutes restriction, it’s safe to rely on 25 minutes from the starting point guard, in one of the most favourable guard matchups for PG’s in basketball — Charlotte.
Lou Williams, LAL ($8,950 PG/SG) @ HOU
It’s not just D’Angelo Russell clearing the way for Williams… Jose Calderon, too. The Lakers guard is having a ball with all this opportunity; his last two outings reaping 56.75 and 48.75 fantasy points respectively from more than 30 minutes in each. That production’s again within range against the Rockets.
Wayne Ellington, MIA ($5,000 SG) @ ATL
Miami’s incredibly banged up right now. With no Josh Richardson or Dion Waiters, Ellington’s about the only guard available — guaranteeing plenty of usage, starting at the two.
Also in play:
Brandon Jennings, NY (8,200 PG) v CLE
Goran Dragic, MIA ($12,800 PG/SG) @ ATL
Sean Kilpatrick, BKN ($8,750 PG/SG) v DEN
Thabo Sefolosha, ATL ($6,150 SG/SF) v MIA
Atlanta’s been horrible, but finally find an opponent it should match. That should see Thabo play strong minutes against a depleted Heat side on a back-to-back.
Tim Hardaway Jr. ATL ($5,000 SG/SF) v MIA
Another Hawk worth having in this spot. The bottom-dollar Hardaway Jr. has been trending up, but the price remains underground.
P.J. Tucker, PHO ($6,850 SG/SF) v IND
Should reach reasonable output in a nice matchup… and the asking price is more than fair.
Also in play:
Carmelo Anthony, NY ($14,300 SF/PF) v CLE
Wilson Chandler, DEN ($10,500 SG/SF) @ BKN
Jabari Parker, MIL ($10,500 SF/PF) v POR
POWER FORWAD / CENTRE
John Henson, MIL ($6,250 PF/C) v POR
The big Buck’s been earning the big bucks lately, starting and averaging 25 minutes from his last six… and Milwalkee will likely stick to the winning formula against a defensively vulnerable Portland front court that gives up the second most points in the league to PF/C.
Josh McRoberts, MIA ($5,700 PF/C) @ ATL
‘McBob’ can’t be ignored on a day he’ll likely see upwards of 25 minutes and a lot of looks. Justise Winslow and James Johnson are both out… the Heat will need to lean on someone.
Jon Leuer, DET ($7,800 PF/C) @ CHA
The consistent Piston should be a reliable cash game option.
Also in play:
Kristaps Porzingis, NY ($12,850 PF/C) v CLE
