NBA $15,000 Thursday Line-Up
Let’s celebrate Australia Day in style, with 10 games on the card for Draftstars’ NBA $15k+ Thursday contest. There’s plenty of intriguing games on the slate, but all the big names are set to fire up. Which ones have we slotted in for Thursday’s line-up?
Here is a team you may consider for the NBA $15k+ Thursday competition
Point Guard
Isaiah Thomas $16,450
The little man from Boston is on an absolute roll at the moment and shows no signs of slowing down as the season nears the All-Star break. Thomas has scored at least 20 points in his last 27 games dating back to November and is second in the league for points per game. Coming off a 41 point, 6 assist and 3 rebound performance against Portland, his confidence is riding high with 35 points or more in his last 3 encounters.
Seth Curry $8,050
Seth Curry has proven he is more than just the brother of Steph, as he carves out a nice niche for himself in the league. Finally getting a chance to show his talents on a struggling Dallas team, he has been impressive knocking down three-pointers and passing well to find open teammates. His last 4 games have seen him play around 30 minutes of game time and as a result he has scored 14 points or more, as well as contributing with assists and steals. If he shoots the ball well, he could be in for a big point scoring night for your fantasy team.
Shooting Guard
Goran Dragic $13,900
Dragic looks to have found his shooting touch again for the Heat and has been a big contributor as his team has picked up some unexpected wins of late. Dragic has always been a great passer and exponent of the pick and roll, and has been able to use this to get himself good looks or find the open man. Averaging 23 points and a touch under 5 assists per game over his last 6, Dragic seems to have hit form and as a result becomes a fantasy weapon as he can fill up the stat sheet on a nightly basis.
Dion Waiters $8,900
Waiters’ confidence levels will be sky high after hitting the winning shot to sink the Warriors in his last matchup. Waiters poured in his second consecutive game of 33 points and in that stretch has hit 11 three pointers and shot 51% from the field. With Tyler Johnson out, Waiters has picked up extra minutes and as a result seems to have taken on extra responsibility. While his current hot shooting doesn’t seem sustainable long term, Johnson’s absence gives Waiters more chances to fill up the stat sheet.
Small Forward
Carmelo Anthony $14,850
The perennial all-star has been somewhat below his best this season but on his night he is still one of the best scorers in the league. While his average of 22.5 points per game is down from his usual high standard, he has been much better over the last few games and his shooting rhythm seems to have returned. Carmelo is able to grab a high number of boards each game and is averaging a touch over 6 for the season. Against a young and inexperienced Dallas team, expect Melo to again be a prominent part of the offence.
Bojan Bogdanovic $7,850
Despite the tough season that Brooklyn is having, they have found a great player in Bogdanovic. His ability to space the floor and shoot the long ball makes him an offensive weapon every time he steps out onto the court. Bogdanovic has the ability to heat up quickly and on his night can score in bunches and put up big numbers quickly. Brooklyn will face Miami and Bogdanovic should be able to take advantage of the poor Miami team to put up points and play a big part in the game.
Power Forward
Clint Capela $10,800
The big man has returned to the Houston line-up after his recovering from a broken leg and looks to have regained the bounce that made him such a potent player at the start of the season. Capela has been playing off the bench since returning but will slide back into the starting line up as his play with James Harden was a big boost to the Rockets offence. Capela is always active on the defensive end picking up rebounds, steals and blocks, and has great touch around the basket. A repeat of his 22 point, 12 rebound game from a few days back would be a nice return for Capela as he looks to regain momentum after returning.
Tristan Thompson $9,700
Thompson has established himself as the inside presence for the Cavaliers, and the importance of his tough inside play cannot be underestimated, as the Cavaliers rely on him to set the tone on the defensive end. In his last matchup against the Spurs, Thompson had a great game pouring in 14 points to go along with 12 rebounds and a block. He will face a tough matchup against DeMarcus Cousins but expect him to lift for the contest and push for another double-double.
Centre
Robin Lopez $8,900
The move to Chicago has suited Lopez, as he has the ability to help the Bulls on both ends of the court and his hustle gets him a number of offensive rebounds. Over his last stretch Lopez has upped his contribution on the offensive end putting up just over 11 points per game while grabbing 7 boards. Look for Lopez to again be a major force for the Bulls and put up some solid numbers.
