NBA $4,000 Monday Line-Up
The Draftstars NBA $4K Monday contest is a bit unique in that there are only three games for us to pick our lineups from. With that being said, the game to watch will be between the Thunder and the Kings featuring two of the biggest superstars in the NBA, Russell Westbrook and DeMarcus Cousins.
Here is a team you may consider for the NBA $4k+ Monday competition
Point Guard
Russell Westbrook ($25,000)
Westbrook will take up a quarter of your budget, but he is most certainly worth it on a day with a thin slate. He was disappointed by his performance against the Timberwolves (he still notched a triple-double) which means he will be playing with a vengeance and is a must-have in all fantasy contests.
Michael Carter-Williams ($6,900)
MCW has moved into the starting five in Chicago and the results have been slightly better meaning he should get a stay of execution. His jumper is still broken and the turnovers are still an issue, but he stuffs the stat sheet in other areas and is a worthwhile play.
Shooting Guard
Andre Roberson ($7,150)
Andre Roberson has scored over eight points in his last five games, so he is basically in the greatest scoring stretch of his career. His defensive impact is what earns him minutes though and against the Kings he should be able to make a significant impact, given that the Kings are notoriously bad at protecting the basketball.
Garrett Temple ($6,350)
Temple is now the starting shooting guard for the Kings and whilst he hasn’t turned into a superstar, he is at least getting a solid allotment of minutes. Temple won’t be a superstar by any means, but he has the minutes and the opportunity to do a job for the Kings and our Draftstars team.
Small Forward
Anthony Tolliver ($5,200)
Similar to Temple, Tolliver has been inserted into the starting lineup and has brought a different dimension to the Kings offence so far. With his ability to shoot threes and stretch the floor, Tolliver is currently earning over 30 minutes per game and finding his range. At the price point, he is a must have.
Reggie Bullock ($5,000)
Bullock got his first meaningful minutes of the year against the Utah Jazz and he did some nice things for the Pistons. With Caldwell-Pope out with a shoulder strain, Bullock figures to pick up a lot of those minutes and against a poor Lakers team, he figures to get plenty of run from van Gundy.
Power Forward
DeMarcus Cousins ($18,2000
Boogie is one of the most divisive players in the NBA, but he is also one of the best. If the Sacramento Kings are to win on a nightly basis, Cousins has to play out of his mind. With a matchup against Russell Westbrook waiting, Cousins will be out to prove he is the best superstar in the NBA that has no help from his teammates.
Marcus Morris ($9,700)
Morris is a player that has the utmost faith in his jump shot. Unfortunately, that faith is unwavering, even in his cold streaks. Thankfully for Morris and Pistons fans, the Lakers are waiting and that means plenty of points, even for Marcus Morris.
Centre
Andre Drummond ($16,450)
DeAndre Jordan just put 24 and 21 on the LA Lakers. Pau Gasol two nights ago had a perfect shooting night. They are both centres. Andre Drummond is a centre. He plays a very similar game to Jordan. Expect him to explode against the turnstile Lakers defence.
