NBA $5,000 Monday Line-Up Tips
With six games on the slate, NBA Monday is sure to be an entertaining day. What will make it more entertaining is the Draftstars NBA Monday $5K contest. Plenty of teams that are in great form will be playing which also ensures it should be an exciting day of basketball.
Here is a team you may consider for the NBA $5k+ Monday competition
Point Guard
Jrue Holiday ($13,650)
It is no coincidence that ever since Holiday has come back into the lineup, the New Orleans Pelicans have improved out of sight and are now in the mix for a playoff spot. His recent fantasy play has also been superb, averaging 41 in his last six games. His point guard battle against John Wall and the Wizards should be one to savour.
Seth Curry ($8,850)
The other Curry has finally found a role for himself in the NBA on the struggling Dallas Mavericks and he is grabbing the opportunity with both hands. Despite having a tough matchup against the Spurs, Curry should see additional run with Deron Williams sidelined with injury. At the price, you have to plug him in.
Shooting Guard
James Harden ($22,900)
This might be point chasing, but when you score 97 fantasy points in your last game of organised basketball, you get locked into my fantasy team. Harden is playing incredible basketball right now and looks in the lead for the MVP. The Indiana Pacers tend to leak fantasy points to opposition point guards and Harden most certainly fits that category.
Tyreke Evans ($9,400)
Tyreke Evans looks to finally be over all his nagging injuries and has established himself as the key 6th man on the Pelicans bench and he gets a nice matchup against the weak Wizards bench. Evans is a stat sheet stuffer off the bench and he can explode on any given night. Lock him in.
Small Forward
Dario Saric ($7,850)
The 76ers rookie has carved out a nice niche for himself off the bench and he is getting better with every game that he plays. The thing that Brett Brown loves about Saric is his hustle and energy that he brings every night. If he can have a nice night shooting the ball, he will be a valuable asset for your lineup.
C.J. Miles ($7,150)
The Indiana Pacers marksman has been shooting the ball sweetly of late and against the fast-paced Houston Rockets, it could be a matchup where he thrives. With a license to shoot, Miles is a good source of threes and not much else really but enough threes gives you a decent fantasy line. Plug him in.
Power Forward
Clint Capela ($10,750)
The Rockets big man seems to have recovered from a leg fracture. Against Myles Turner, he will have his hands full but it will also guarantee him court time in the rotation. One thing that is particularly impressive with Capela is his willingness to sprint up the floor and get on the end of Harden’s brilliant passes, it’ll be fun watching the two of them together when they’re both in your team.
David Lee ($8,150)
With Pau Gasol out, Lee has slotted in seamlessly to the Spurs starting lineup and there could be an argument made that they play better with Lee as opposed to Gasol. That matters for little as they face the Dallas Mavericks who struggle defensively and in general this season but always reserve their best for their Texas rivals. Lee at the price point makes him must have still.
Centre
Mason Plumlee ($10,850)
The Portland big man is a bit of jack-of-all-trades in that he is a good source of assists and steals as well as the expected rebounds and blocks. Against Zaza Pachulia and the Warriors, Plumlee will also have a bit of an opportunity to feast inside in a game that is going to have plenty of points. He can be infuriating sometimes, but is most certainly worth the upside if he performs.
