NBA $6,000 Sunday Line-Up
The Sunday NBA slate is an entertaining one, with nine games on the card and Draftstars is joining the party with a $6K prize pool for the NBA Sunday contest. The game of the day is undoubtedly the clash between the Cavs and the Spurs where LeBron James squares off against the team that has denied him two championships.
Here is a team you may consider for the NBA $6k+ Sunday competition
Point Guard
T.J. McConnell ($6,450)
The 76ers point guard is in career-best form and he has been an integral part of the recent Philadelphia revival. Whilst he isn’t a standout in any one category on the basketball court, he tends to finish with a well rounded stat lie and at the moment is still great value for money for your lineups.
Raymond Felton ($6,450)
With Chris Paul out for the foreseeable future, Raymond Felton has slid into the starting role for the Clippers and he has already proven to be a valuable producer. In his first start replacing Paul, Felton contributed 29.25 fantasy points, which is incredible production at his price. Considering that the Clippers play the up-tempo Nuggets, Felton will have another great chance to shine.
Shooting Guard
Jimmy Butler ($17,700)
Having been named an all-star starter, Jimmy Butler is playing at an extremely high level and is carrying the Chicago Bulls at the moment. In his last outing he finished one rebound shy of a triple double as well. With a matchup against the Kings on the agenda, Butler will have to be at his very best to drag the Bulls over the line.
Eric Bledsoe ($14,100)
Eric Bledsoe is averaging 37.5 fantasy points per game this year but in his last six games he has has pushed that average close to the 43 point mark. He has a matchup against the fantasy-friendly New York Knicks backcourt which is not particularly renowned for its defensive solidarity. This will be a match that the Suns will think they can win and Bledsoe will be a key reason why.
Small Forward
Carmelo Anthony ($14,900)
‘Melo and Phil Jackson are seemingly airing their dirty laundry in public and it appears that Jackson wants Carmelo out of New York. Typically, you’d expect a player to fold under these circumstances, but for Anthony it is incentive to outlast Jackson in New York and to keep dragging this team to wins. Anthony at the Garden will put on a scoring display against one of the worst front courts in basketball.
Austin Rivers ($7,550)
No longer “Doc’s son”, Austin Rivers is finally establishing himself as an NBA rotation player and has played a key role with Blake Griffin out injured. Starting at the small forward position, Rivers has shown off his scoring prowess whilst also being a solid defender. With Chris Paul out as well, you can’t not have Rivers in your team.
Power Forward
Dwight Howard ($13,700)
The key to Dwight Howard is finding a favourable matchup for him against the opposition centre. With Jahlil Okafor likely to start with Joel Embiid resting, Howard should be able to bully him offensively, whilst also limiting him on the defensive end. If the Hawks and 76ers keep it close it’ll also see more opportunities for Dwight. Enjoy the ride with him.
David Lee ($5,750)
With Pau Gasol out with a fractured metacarpal, David Lee slotted straight into the starting lineup and produced like it was 2013. It’ll obviously be a challenge against the Cavs but it looks like Pop has faith in Lee and he is too good to refuse at the price.
Centre
Nikola Jokic ($13,400)
Nikola Jokic has probably been the best fantasy player of 2017 so far and in his last six games he is averaging an absurd 50 points per game. His passing ability is incredible and the more minutes he plays he just produces in all statistical categories. Jokic has also cut down on his silly fouling which was denying him court time but he will be the most owned player of the day, he is playing that well.
