NBA $6,000 Sunday Line-Up Tips
NBA Sunday is here and with seven games on the slate headlined by the Warriors and the Clippers, Draftstars is coming to the party with a $6K tournament to finish the weekend off. As always, there is plenty of value for the lineups with lots of teams in action.
Here is a team you may consider for the NBA $6k+ Sunday competition
Point Guard
Ricky Rubio ($12,650)
The Spanish maestro has constantly been the subject of trade rumours this year but his last two months have been close to the best basketball of his career. He gets a matchup against the Brooklyn Nets who are one of the worst teams at defending point guards from a fantasy perspective, so expect Rubio to exploit the matchup.
Jameer Nelson ($6,950)
With Mudiay out injured, Jameer Nelson has stepped into the starter’s role very capably and is coming off a 36-point fantasy outing against the Phoenix Suns. The Nuggets next opponent? The Phoenix Suns. Nelson can be expected to get plenty of minutes and will be one of the most popular players with that price tag.
Shooting Guard
Devin Booker ($10,850)
Booker has been on a hot streak shooting the ball of late and he gets the ideal matchup here against the Nuggets. The Nuggets are the worst team at defending shooting guards when it comes to putting fantasy points on the board, so expect Booker to let fly and try and avenge the loss from the last time these two teams met.
Dion Waiters ($10,050)
Dion Waiters is a thing now? So often maligned in his career, Waiters appears to have found the perfect landing spot in Miami where he is turning into a valuable contributor capable of hitting clutch, game-winning buckets. He is a tad pricier than what he was last week but he is still must have, even if they have a tough matchup against the Pistons.
Small Forward
Nicolas Batum ($13,500)
The do-it-all Frenchman has been relatively poor by his lofty standards recently but a matchup against the Kings on a back to back is the perfect way to atone his shortcomings. With Rudy Gay out injured for the Kings, it means that there is no one that really has the size to match Batum, meaning he will be able to bully them inside and exploit the mismatches that are presented to him.
Jabari Parker ($11,450)
Since his benching for team discipline, Parker has come out firing as he looks to atone for the public comments that he made regarding the Bucks and their slump. He comes up against a Boston side that fundamentally struggles with rebounding the ball, meaning that Parker should be able to go above and beyond what he normally does on the glass whilst still putting the ball in the hoop.
Power Forward
Draymond Green ($15,650)
With Steph Curry currently listed as doubtful with a quad contusion, it makes Draymond Green an intriguing play on the slate. What it will mean is that his usage will be through the roof and he might even try to take on more of the scoring load as well. Considering there is a matchup with the Clippers on deck, who the Warriors hate, Green will be amped up for this one and will put in a big performance.
Danilo Gallinari ($10,850)
With Nikola Jokic out, much of the scoring responsibility for the Nuggets is going to fall on Danilo Gallinari’s shoulders. One thing that is certain with Gallo is that he is remarkably consistent and more or less puts out the same production every time he steps on the court, with a high floor he is an incredibly safe play at the price.
Centre
Jusuf Nurkic ($7,450)
With phenom Nikola Jokic ruled out with injury, it means that Jusuf Nurkic should see the bulk of the minutes at the centre position for the Nuggets. When Nurkic gets minutes, he is an incredible producer and the minutes are going to be there for him. A double-double should be a minimum for the big Bosnian as long as he stays out of foul trouble.
