Here is a team you may consider for the NBA $6k+ Sunday competition

Point Guard

Isaiah Thomas ($14,050)

What if I said there was a guy who has scored over 50 points in three of his past four games, and yet was available for a tick over $14k? Yep, Isaiah is rightly in the discussion for MVP, and is simply in scintillating form right now. With scores of 63 (bolstered by 15 assists), 61.75 (powered by 52 points) and 51.5 in three of his last four, plus a 53.25 in his previous meeting against New Orleans, it’s a no-brainer.

Jeff Teague ($12,500)

The Pacers point guard went ballistic against Brooklyn, posting 21 points, seven rebounds and 15 assists for the ridiculous score of 57.75. While carrying an ankle injury earlier in the week, Teague is now fully fit and firing on all cylinders. His last outing against the Knicks netted a score of 46.75. Here’s a guy who is in-form, and we need to cash in.

Shooting Guard

C.J McCollum ($14,100)

After dominating at point guard in the absence of Damian Lillard, there were fears his return would severely hamper McCollum’s fantasy relevance. But those fears were put to rest with a powerhouse display against the Lakers. While C.J didn’t scale the highs of the previous two games, 27 points for a fantasy score of 44 is more than handy for a player of his price. With Lillard still under a full workload, it points to another consistent outing for C.J against Detroit.

Reggie Jackson ($9,200)

Reggie’s back, and Draftstars contestants are all the better for it. The Pistons guard has shaken off any lingering injury issues to average 36 points in his last six starts, including 46.5 average in his last two. At his price, we expect something around the 30-point mark – something he has surpassed in each of his last four games. Given he seems to be the new focus of Detroit’s offense, expect his upward trend to continue.

Small Forward

Andrew Wiggins ($11,450)

The former number one pick finished 2016 on a tear, hitting 20 points five games in a row before that streak came to a screeching halt against Philadelphia. No one can question the guy’s fantasy quality – he has three 50+ fantasy scores this season – but it’s a question of whether he can regain his form against Utah. Let’s back him in

Thabo Sefolosha ($6,200)

The veteran swingman showed good signs in all key areas against New Orleans, posting 29.25 on the back of 7 points, 6 rebounds and 5 assists in 32 minutes. What is important is how he contributes across all categories, and with more court time, those numbers should increase. Don’t expect him to shoot the lights out – it’s not his thing – but at his price 25-30 points will suffice.

Power Forward

Taj Gibson ($9,700)

Gibson’s consistency has never been a strong point, but he seems to save his best performances for the NBA’s best. He bounced back against the Cavaliers with a respectable 32 fantasy points off the back of 18 points and 7 rebounds, and here’s hoping that production continues against another strong side in Toronto. We know what he’s capable of, but this a speculative pick.

Jon Leuer ($7,950)

Here’s a question. Which Jon Leuer will we see on Sunday? The one who averaged a respectable 27.5 points across eight games in December? Or the one who struggled to 9 Draftstars points against Miami on January 2? If he gets enough minutes, he has the potential to hit the scoreboard.

Centre

Kristaps Porzingis ($14,650)

The Latvian superstar is back after three games out with an Achilles injury, and after a solid outing against the Bucks, KP is ready to fire against Indiana. He averaged 46.5 fantasy points in the three games before his injury, and his capabilities at both ends of the court bode well for a big fantasy game. He did find foul trouble against Milwaukee, but apart from that, the only doubt is over how he pulls up after his comeback game.
