Here is a team you may consider for the NBA $8k+ Wednesday competition

Point Guard

Isaiah Thomas ($14,200)

He’s quickly becoming a regular in our sides, but at that price, you’d be silly not to pick him. Isaiah has gone 50+ in five of his past six games. Of the premium point guards, that’s a statistic only matched by James Harden. He may be a tad erratic with his assist numbers, but he hits the scoreboard regularly and is in red-hot form. Lock him in, and don’t think twice.

Reggie Jackson ($11,250)

Reggie Jackson’s value is sky-high right now, and it’s time for us to cash in. Priced at a touch over $9k over the weekend, the case for Reggie is a tad complicated, but with 93 fantasy points in his last two outings, we can afford to fit him in. Expect his streak of 20+ point games to continue, and for you to reap the benefits.

Shooting Guard

C.J McCollum ($13,550)

If Isaiah is our favourite, this guy is a close second. Picking up the slack in Damian Lillard’s absence, C.J McCollum is averaging 53.1 fantasy points in his last three, and somehow he’s actually cheaper than he was on the weekend. The return of Dame hasn’t impacted his numbers, and in fact he recorded a very handy seven assists to go with 27 points against the Lakers. It bodes well for another strong performance.

Eric Gordon ($10,300)

Gordon’s thrived off the bench for Houston, and is developing a serious hot hand from the deep that is proving to be very fantasy-relevant. His 31-point game against Washington last Tuesday included six treys, and against Charlotte it’s likely he’ll get plenty of looks from the deep. If his hand gets hot, watch out!

Small Forward

Tobias Harris ($9,750)

At a touch under $10k, we want consistency. That’s what Tobias Harris provides in spades. In fact, his last three fantasy scores read: 32.50, 32 and 32. Harris has dipped below 30 fantasy points just once in his past seven games. He hits the scoreboard, but doesn’t really contribute in any other categories. But against Portland, we can lock him in for another 30-35 point game, and that reliability is critical.

James Johnson ($7,750)

Just like Harris, Johnson has been remarkably consistent over the past four games – with a lowest fantasy score of 34.75 in that time. Johnson looks to have shed the illness that floored him earlier this season, and provides plenty of value at his price. Given he hits the scoreboard regularly despite a 25-minute plus workload, we can safely lock him in.

Power Forward

Julius Randle ($11,850)

After overcoming the finger injury he sustained in the previous clash with Portland last Thursday, expect Randle to return to his best against the Blazers. Some are harbouring concerns that his finger injury will minimise his workload, but Randle’s output is too important to the Lakers’ structure. Five days ago he recorded a triple-double against Memphis for 55.75 points, so we know what he’s capable of. He hasn’t gone under 30 fantasy points in 2017, and I don’t expect that to change against the Blazers.

Al-Farouq Aminu ($7,150)

Let’s be honest here. We’re not expecting Al-Farouq Aminu to record monster numbers. But his past two games have been more than handy, and in his last outing against the Lakers he pulled down 11 rebounds for 32.50 fantasy points. We’ll take that output again in a heartbeat.

Centre

Dwight Howard ($14,100)

Coming off a 20-rebound game against Dallas, Dwight Howard is in prime form and should dominate the boards against Brooklyn. We know what we’re gonna get from the big fella – plenty of rebounds and plenty of scoring opportunities inside the paint. With a few days rest under the belt, expect Howard to be fit and firing.
