Here is a team you may consider for the NBA $8k+ Friday competition

Point Guard

Russell Westbrook ($22,250)

If you’re going to spend a considerable amount of money on one player, you want them to dominate. Despite Patrick Beverley posing a considerable defensive threat, Westbrook coming in at a cheaper price than James Harden makes him the star of the day. Fresh off a comfortable double-double against the Hornets, Westbrook has been hitting close to 50 fantasy points recently. Lock and load

Jrue Holiday ($13,350)

After missing the first portion of the season due to family illness, Holiday has hit form and is one of the better point guards in the league at this point in time. Despite the Pelicans’ win-loss record being poor, Holiday is getting double-doubles and linking well once again with Anthony Davis. Against the Hawks and the inconsistent Schroder, Holiday should have another good game.

Shooting Guard

Victor Oladipo ($10,550)

This is a good, under-priced pick for today’s contest. Since returning from injury, Oladipo has been solid, hitting a couple of 30+ fantasy point performances recently. While he won’t set the world on fire against the Rockets, he’ll be a danger from the perimeter and should help exploit Harden’s defensive woes.

Kyle Korver ($5,850)

The Hawks’ veteran has rotated between the starting line-up and being the team’s sixth man in recent times, but he still an extremely serviceable player. He is close to a bargain basement price, which is extremely relevant given he is still an important part of Atlanta’s rotation. The Pelicans offer an easier match-up for the Hawks coming off a win over Orlando, and Korver can help Howard in throwing his weight around to double-team Davis. He’ll have a big game if his three-point shooting is on early.
andre-drummond-2

Small Forward

Kent Bazemore ($7,300)

Another value pick from Atlanta, Bazemore is as inconsistent as they come, however he is worth a shot given it’s a match against the struggling Pelicans. His hit-and-miss nature has him rated lowly by a lot of coaches, which automatically gives those who select him an advantage, if he can hit his shots early. He had a solid game against the Magic, and should look to continue that form.

Nick Young ($7,100)

A general rule many like to follow is to pick any good shooters against the Trail Blazers. Young has turned his game right around this season for the Lakers, and is the deadliest of three-point shooters in the squad, particularly when he is in a confident stretch. He’s averaging over 30 points over his last three matches, and has shot well from range. We’re looking for value in the small forwards and Young meets the criteria.

Power Forward

Trevor Booker ($9,250))

Booker had six consecutive outings of around 20-25 minute showings before a huge match against Utah. He finished with 17 points and 15 rebounds, which translated to 41.25 fantasy points, a performance he matched multiple times throughout the opening parts of the season. The Pacers provide a good match-up for Booker, given their slight rebounding deficiency. Hopefully Booker gets another 30+ minutes, as he could get another 40 fantasy points.

Montrezl Harrell ($5,900)

Not many cheap players become must-haves, but since Clint Capela got injured for the Rockets, Harrell has been delivering in our Draftstars contests. He is getting good game-time and having an impact in multiple categories, which is translating to him being severely undervalued for his current production. Given he will be playing against Kanter and Adams, it’s likely Harrell’s points will likely come from his shooting, which has improved in recent times.

Centre

Andre Drummond ($14,800)

This is an absolute lock for the Friday contest, with Drummond coming up against Charlotte. Despite the Hornets’ win over the Thunder, they conceded 40 points and 20 rebounds to Adams and Kanter. A clear gap in their big man stocks due to Cody Zeller’s unavailability means Drummond could have an absolute field day. Crucially, he is in good form and his last match against Charlotte resulted in a 26-points, 20-rebound, 56.50 fantasy point game. Lock him in.
