NFL $1,500+ Full Week 14 Best Buys
Another week closer to the NFL post-season, which is another chance for teams to better themselves in pursuit of a playoff berth, with a full 16 games to select teams for the Draftstars NFL $1.5k Full Week 14 competition.
Quarterback
Andrew Luck ($14,550)
Luck’s return from concussion last week was an impressive one as he torched the New York Jets, totalling a season-high 29.72 points. With the Colts rolling, a win over their division leaders in Houston could be pivotal in their playoff hopes, and Luck will be the main component to make that a reality. Aaron Rodgers threw two touchdowns last week against the Texans, and Luck could have a similar output this week.
Running Back
David Johnson ($22,400)
Johnson has continued to be fantasy’s best friend this season after compiling another game of over 100 total yards – something he has done in every game this year. With 15 total touchdowns on the year, there looks to be no slowing Johnson, who remains a threat for the Cardinals in both the pass and run offense. This week he faces a Miami defence which ranks 16th in total production to opposing running backs.
Jeremy Hill ($12,450)
After two games with over 10 points the past fortnight, Hill enters Week 14 in decent form and with a favourable matchup against Cleveland. He ran for 168 yards and a touchdown against the Browns earlier in the season and given Cleveland allow the second-most points to the running back position, it’s every chance he’ll light it up once more.
Wide Receiver
T.Y. Hilton ($11,550)
Hilton caught nine catches for 168 yards last week against the Jets in a game which he returned to form as Andrew Luck’s number one receiver. In his previous game against Houston this year, he totalled just 39 receiving yards, however in a must-win game for Indianapolis, he’ll be a prominent option in the game.
Julian Edelman ($11,500)
Averaging 14.9 points over his last two games, Edelman has been a key component of the Tom Brady-led Patriot offense. What is more enticing is that Edelman has copped a total of 40 targets over the past three games despite Brady throwing for under 300 yards across that stretch. Expect Edelman to feature heavily when moving the ball down field.
Tight End
Dwayne Allen ($5,500)
Priced at just over $5k, Allen presents elite value at the tight end position having delivered 72 yards and three touchdowns for a total of 29.20 points last week. It was enough to put him back on the radar this week, and despite still sharing receptions with Jack Doyle, his form and price is simply too good to ignore.
Flex
Kenny Britt ($10,450)
Britt has caught a touchdown in each of the last two games and has been perhaps Los Angeles’ best fantasy talent this season. While only recording two receptions last week against New England, Britt remains a red zone threat for the Rams and faces Atlanta who rank 25th in production to opposing wide receivers, suggesting Britt could see more receptions in Week 14.
Marqise Lee ($5,100)
Lee found it difficult against Denver’s elite secondary last week, unable to extend his touchdown streak to three games. But a matchup with Minnesota should be easier for the Jaguars receiver. The Vikings have allowed the second-most yards to opposing receivers per game. Prior to last week, Lee also returned double digit scores in three of his last four games.
Defense
Detroit Lions ($6,350)
The Lions offense has been the main reason why the team is currently sitting atop the NFC North, however the emergence of the defence in recent weeks has propelled the team to new heights. Having intercepted Drew Brees three times last week, the Lions should keep rolling against Chicago with the far less experienced Matt Barkley at quarterback, who has already thrown for four interceptions in his three starts this year.
