NFL $2,000+ Full Week 13 Best Buys
Recent weeks have unearthed plenty of gems for our Draftstars teams – whether they be players returning from injury, rookies who are finding their way, or simply players who have a favourable matchup. We’ve targeted those players for our NFL $2,000+ Full Week 13 line-up.
Here is a team for the NFL $2,000+ Full Week 13 competition for you to consider:
Quarterback
Matthew Stafford ($17,550)
Stafford has fallen down the pecking order among quarterbacks in recent weeks, having thrown just five touchdowns across the past five weeks. His price is lower than other top end quarterbacks and he faces a New Orleans defence which continues to struggle this year. They’ve allowed two passing touchdowns in seven of the last 11 games, and with the season he’s having, expect Stafford to exceed his yearly average of 18.4.
Running Back
David Johnson ($22,500)
Almost a quarter of the budget has been used to purchase Johnson; but for good reason. Following his 160 all-purpose yard week against the Falcons – where he also caught a touchdown, Johnson faces Washington, who have allowed the 25th most points to the running back position this year. With four games about 30 points on the year, including two in the past fortnight, Johnson’s production won’t regress in Week 13 as he’ll look to make it 12 straight games above 100 total yards.
Jordan Howard ($12,150)
San Francisco are the league’s worst rush defence, allowing 171.8 yards per game and 5.1 yards per carry, which could mean a big production this week for Howard. The Bears’ premier runner has averaged 15 carries this season, having beaten out Jeremy Langford – who had just one rush last week – for the number one job. With just three touchdowns so far this year, expect Howard to feast on the 49ers’ defence.
Wide Receiver
Davante Adams ($9,250)
While Green Bay’s defence has struggled, their offence hasn’t, with Adams enjoying a breakout season and subsequently becoming Aaron Rodgers’ favoured target in the end zone. He has five touchdowns in his last six games at an average of 21.46 points across the same stretch. Against the Texans this week, Adams is every chance of continuing his purple patch, given Houston has allowed four receivers to score in their last three games and another two who have eclipsed 100 yards receiving.
Sammy Watkins ($10,500)
Watkins’ return from injury has given quarterback Tyrod Taylor a quality option in his passing game and managed 80 receiving yards despite seeing limited reps with his return. It’s safe to assume Watkins will see an increased amount of game time this week against Oakland’s pass defence which only ranks 28th in the league.
Tight End
Tyler Eifert ($8,950)
Since his return from injury, Eifert has rekindled his Pro-Bowl form from last season. AJ Green’s injury has left Eifert as Andy Dalton’s best receiving option and since his resumption, has already produced three games of scores in double digits. His Week 13 matchup comes against Philadelphia, whose defence has allowed touchdowns to tight ends Jimmy Graham and Jason Witten in recent weeks.
Flex
Malcolm Mitchell ($5,600)
Mitchell has progressed incredibly over the past fortnight having hauled in three touchdowns over this period. With Rob Gronkowski again in doubt, Mitchell will likely post similar numbers as a constant red zone threat. His previous two weeks have produced a total of 41 points, and a matchup against the LA Rams, who conceded five passing touchdowns to New Orleans last week, suggests big numbers again for Mitchell.
Taylor Gabriel ($6,400)
Gabriel has hit double digits in each game this past month, thanks to a consistent output of at least 50 yards receiving and four touchdowns in total. After 26.2 points last week it’s a near guarantee Gabriel will feature against Kansas City, who have given up the most points to wide receivers this season.
Defense
New England Patriots ($5,950)
In terms of streaming defences in Week 13, New England’s matchup with Los Angeles provides the best value for their price. After a quiet stretch of games – only once toppling 10 points since Tom Brady’s return – the Patriots could have a field day against a stagnant Rams outfit who are lacking consistent weapons in the skill department.
