NRL $1,000+ Broncos v Tigers Line-Up

The fourth place Broncos will host the fifteenth placed Tigers at home this Friday night in what should be a blockbuster encounter. The Tigers have let Mitchell Moses walk to the Eels, but regain the services of captain Aaron Woods. Both teams will be gunning for victory, which will make for an excellent Draftstars contest.

Here is a team you may consider for the NRL $1,000+ Broncos v Tigers competition

Front Row Forward

Josh McGuire ($13,900)

McGuire has been phenomenal so far this season as Corey Parker’s replacement in the Brisbane number thirteen jersey. McGuire has proved to be quite the defensive stalwart for the Broncos, laying an average of 37.4 tackle per game and stepping up with big tackles in big moments. In attack, he’s been incredibly reliable as a ball carrier, but has been limited in other areas as he’s yet to break a line or score a try this season. Either way, he’s produced huge tackling and running numbers and is the best option amongst the props.

Herman Ese’ese ($8,400)

Ese’ese has started in the last five matches despite being named on the bench. In this time, Ese’ese has played just over half a game on average and has been extremely impactful, with a lowest Draftstars score of 28 in this time. His ability to produce big tackling and running numbers, whilst being able to bust tackles in attack is impressive and at just over $8k, he is too good to refuse.

Hooker

Kodi Nikorima ($8,400)

Whilst Andrew McCullough is a safe bet in this contest, Nikorima provides both value and upside. The current Broncos’ halfback is available at a bargain price thanks to his utility role early in the season which saw him play significant minutes at dummy-half as well as in the backline. Nikorima has proven his scoring ability, with a couple of brilliant tries in the last few weeks and if you combine this with some solid tackling numbers, it is clear that Nikorima is an excellent option for a slightly cheaper price.

Second Row Forward

Matt Gillett ($14,200)

After putting in a man-of-the-match effort against the Kiwi’s in the Anzac test, Gillett crashed back to earth against Manly last week, recording a whopping eight missed tackles. Despite this, it is clear that Gillett has established himself as one of the premier edge players in the league thanks to a solid defensive game, and an impressive ball playing role which ties together the Brisbane attack. Against the Tigers, Gillett will be looking to attack defensive lapses at all costs, which should lead to a solid score.

John Aloiai ($7,850)

There aren’t a whole lot of bargain options in this contest, but Aloiai is one with a nice ceiling. Against the Sharks in round nine, he saw 55 minutes from the bench and managed to produce 121 metres and 32 tackles which resulted in 53.10 Draftstars points. If he can play solid minutes and take advantage of the Broncos front-row – which is one of their weaker areas – there is no reason Aloiai can’t provide a reasonable score.

Centre

James Roberts ($14,500)

Roberts is a must-have in every game in which the Broncos are favourites. His ability to consistently gain huge running metres whilst also breaking tackles is what makes him one of the most revered centres in the competition. Often this leads to tries, line breaks and try assists, and against one of the worst defences in the competition, there is every chance that Roberts ends up with a massive score.

Half

Anthony Milford ($12,450)

Milford has been influential in a number of the Broncos wins this season and that was especially prevalent last round, as he recorded seven tackle breaks and a try in an important victory over the Sea Eagles. His ability to fill up the attacking stats is unparalleled in this contest, which makes him worth the extra coin due to his ability to score 60+ Draftstars points. Against a Tigers team that struggles to play consistent defence, there is every chance that Milford ends up playing a massive role in a potential Broncos victory.

Wing/Fullback

James Tedesco ($13,900)

Even though he hasn’t been at his best in the past three weeks, there is no disputing that Tedesco is one of the best custodians in the competition. His ability to break tackles is unparalleled, whilst his meterage is solid as well. It’s difficult to keep a player of his quality down for four weeks straight, which means that he will be keen to impose himself and have a massive performance against the Broncos in a blockbuster Friday night match.

Malakai Watene Zelezniak ($6,100)

After struggling to find a role in a loaded Penrith back line, Watene Zelezniak seems to have found a nice home at the Wests Tigers. In his club debut last week, he made 23 tackles and ran 96 metres in a solid but unspectacular performance. With a lack of credible cheap options in this contest, Watene Zelezniak presents excellent value in a Tigers’ centre role which is generally conducive to solid Draftstars scores.
