NRL $10,000+ Eels v Titans Line-Up

The Eels host the Titans on Thursday night and will be looking to recapture their form in the lead up to finals after a surprising loss to Newcastle last week. The Titans have had plenty of drama in the lead up to this one, with coach Neil Henry and superstar Jarryd Hayne at loggerheads throughout the week. Hayne will miss this game through injury and there is no doubt that his teammates will be looking to prove themselves without him.

Here is a team you may consider for the NRL $10,000+ Eels v Titans competition

Front Row Forward

Nathan Brown ($15,000)

Brown has been phenomenal this season and has started to receive the accolades he deserves in the media. He’s playing massive minutes and is producing in spades, racking up 200+ metres one week and 50+ tackles the next. He’s a blue-collar player who continually does the dirty work for the Eels and it shows in his statistical production. He’s averaging 67.7 Draftstars points per game in the last six weeks and you simply can’t afford not to have him.

Daniel Alvaro ($13,000)

Alvaro has found his niche at the Eels in recent weeks, moving to the bench and providing valuable minutes through the middle of games. Since moving back to the bench, the big front-rower has averaged 53.6 Draftstars points and has given the Eels plenty of thrust in attack. Last week he had 49 tackles and ran 135 metres against the Knights and was one of the only Eels to stand up in what was a tepid performance. His side should bounce back this week and Alvaro will be leading from the front.

Hooker

Cameron King ($9,000)

King has started to adjust to the pace of the NRL again after a significant period out of the game and this has seen him improve his Draftstars scoring immensely. In the last two weeks he has made 49 and 57 tackles respectively, playing 80 minutes in each contest. While his defensive adjustment has been solid, he has struggled in attack and has frequently chosen the wrong option in terms of when to run the ball and when to pass it. However, if he keeps making tackles, he will continue to be great value in Draftstars even if it may not reflect his value to the Eels

Second Row Forward

Kenny Edwards ($12,300)

Inconsistency has been a hallmark of Edwards’ game ever since he entered the NRL and nothing has changed this season. Whether it’s a dumb play or a simple brain fade, Edwards would be incredibly frustrating for Eels fans. However, with the bad does come the good, and with Edwards the good can be great. At his best he’s a dangerous edge runner who can break tackles, create second phase action and act as an extra ball player. The Titans have conceded plenty of points in recent weeks and Edwards is a great chance to capitalise on any defensive lapses.

Joe Greenwood ($10,350)

Greenwood is one of Neil Henry’s favourites and given his reliability, it’s not hard to see why. He’s one of the safest ball carriers in the competition, he runs great lines and he’s a threat to score when the Titans get close to the line. Defensively he tries his heart out and often ends up with 30+ tackles. He’s the cheapest option in the second-row in this contest and he should approximate the scoring of some of the more expensive guys.

Centre

Michael Jennings ($11,150)

Since returning from injury Jennings has undoubtedly played his best football of the season. Last week he scored a try, made a line break and broke five tackles in an attacking performance that has been the norm for him over the last five years or so. His footwork is excellent and his speed will cause plenty of issues for the Titans, so there is every chance that he once again is the best scoring centre in a weak pool.

Half

Corey Norman ($11,400)

After beginning the season in form that had him in Origin calculations, Norman has been quiet in the last few weeks. Playing alongside Mitchell Moses, he has had to relinquish some of the ball playing duties he had earlier in the season and he has struggled to impact the contest as much. However, with his excellent passing, kicking and especially running game, he is always a threat to break the game open. In what should be a fairly one sided contest, this could be the perfect opportunity for Norman to recapture his form.

Wing/Fullback

Semi Radradra ($9,350)

Radradra has been quiet recently after some scintillating performances in the middle of the season that reminded everyone why this man was the hottest commodity in football a couple of years ago. There’s nothing Semi loves more than to dominate a weaker side with his tackle breaking, metre-eating and try scoring abilities and the Titans fit the criteria of a weak side better than anyone else in the league at the moment. Don’t be shocked if Radradra ends up with a couple of line breaks, multiple tackle busts and a try or two.

Tyrone Roberts ($7,100)

Supporters have been crying out for Roberts to return to the halves and it seems as if they will finally get their wish, with the former Knight being named at five-eighth. Last time he started at six, he ended the game with 47.9 Draftstars points thanks to a try, a line break, five tackle breaks and some solid kicking. He is certainly at his best in the halves, so ensure that he isn’t moved to fullback to cover Hayne’s injury before selecting him.
