NRL $10,000+ Rabbitohs v Bulldogs Line-Up

Two proud clubs go head to head in a Thursday night blockbuster, with the Rabbitohs hosting the Bulldogs at ANZ Stadium. The Bunnies bounced back last round with a come from behind victory against the Dragons where they were able to score two tries within ten minutes to steal the game. The Dogs have won just one game in the last six weeks and will be desperate to get a victory going into the end of the season.

Here is a team you may consider for the NRL $10,000+ Rabbitohs v Bulldogs competition

Front Row Forward

David Klemmer ($12,750)

Klemmer has been huge for the Bulldogs in the last couple of weeks, playing extra minutes and giving them some much needed hard running. In the last three matches, he’s averaging 188.3 metres gained from 19.3 runs per game, with opposition teams struggling to contain the monster lock. His defensive presence has lifted as well, with Klemmer laying 36 and 37 tackles in the last two games respectively after averaging just 22.5 per game prior to that. Against the struggling Bunnies’ pack, Klemmer will be pivotal in giving the Bulldogs field position and he should end up with another big score this week.

Cameron Murray ($6,550)

Murray had his most impactful game of the season last round as coach Michael Maguire trusted him with increased playing time. After averaging 27.5 minutes per game in his previous four outings, Murray saw 50 minutes of action against the Dragons and he didn’t put a foot wrong. He ended up making 39/41 tackles and ran 87 metres from just eight runs in what was a fundamentally sound performance. The Rabbitohs have been lacking a no-frills forward through the middle and there is every chance Murray could be the answer.

Hooker

Damien Cook ($11,650)

Picking a Rabbitohs hooker is usually fraught with danger, but Cook should remain as starting rake this week after a massive game against the Dragons. After being shifted back into the starting line-up two games ago, Cook was phenomenal last week, ending up with a try, a try assist, 42 tackles and six tackle breaks in a massive performance. His running game out of dummy-half was dynamite and he gave the Rabbitohs a go-forward that had been missing in recent weeks with Robbie Farah.

Second Row Forward

Sam Burgess ($16,350)

After a string of incredible performances throughout the middle of the season, Burgess has been quiet in recent weeks. A glute injury that saw him play just one game in June could certainly be a factor, but six weeks down the track, he should be back to his best. There is no doubt Burgess is crucial to this side – he leads them in offloads, running metres and tackles made – so he will be looking to get back to his best football and lead them to a rare victory. When these two teams last met, he made 40 tackles and ran 136 metres, and there is every chance he will do even better this week.

Josh Jackson ($14,000)

Despite the Bulldogs struggles, Jackson has usually been a consistent presence for them this season. His strong line running and ability to be a ball playing forward make him a valuable presence on the edge, but his three errors last week weren’t ideal from a player that is known for his reliability. Despite this, he ended up with 39 tackles, three tackle breaks and an offload which netted him 49.6 Draftstars points. Jackson is highly unlikely to make three errors again this week, which should mean he is able to increase his fantasy production.

Centre

Brenko Lee ($11,050)

Last week, Lee returned to the NRL for the first time since round thirteen, when he went down with a knee injury. He put in a solid performance at right-centre where he was his usual lively self in attack, running 164 metres, making a line break and assisting on a try. Defensively, where he usually struggles, he was okay too, making 12 tackles without miss. His strong running game and tackle breaking ability suit fantasy perfectly and he should have another big game against the Bunnies’ left flank.

Half

Chase Stanley ($8,700)

Des Hasler spun the magnets last round and moved Stanley to the halves in a bid to try to create some attack and to save his job. Stanley was solid, if a little insipid, kicking just four times and running without threat. With another week under his belt to combine with Josh Reynolds, he should put in a better performance this week which will hopefully see the return of the powerful running game he showcases in the centres. Defensively, he handled the step up in workload with aplomb, making 28/31 tackles.

Wing/Fullback

Alex Johnston ($10,500)

Johnston remains one of the most prolific try scorers that the game has ever seen, with another prolific season despite his team’s struggles. He is the equal leading try scorer in the competition this season and has scored more than double the amount of tries as the next best Rabbitoh (Bryson Goodwin). He’s shifted back to fullback in the last couple of weeks and has found his attacking nous, setting up two tries and scoring one himself last round. In that game he ran 173 metres (including 100 metres from kick returns) and broke seven tackles as well, showing just how much confidence the speedster has in his game at the moment.

Campbell Graham ($7,850)

Graham only turned 18 two months ago and is still studying for his HSC, but the towering winger stood out on debut for the Bunnies. At 197cm, Graham is tough to miss, but his speed is what really made him eye catching last Friday night. His combination of size and speed allowed him to break five tackles and run 119 metres from 15 carries against the Dragons in a performance he can certainly build on this week. Given his price tag and pure ability, Graham is worth risking in just his second game.
