Here is a team you may consider for the NBA $6k+ Wednesday competition

Point Guard

Kemba Walker ($16,800)

The star Hornets point guard has come back from the All Star break in fine form, averaging 41.5 DS points per game since the break. In that time, Walker has been involved in two overtime defeats, dropping 34 points in both of those matches. Walker’s main strength is his shooting, he has only failed to reach double digit points in one match this season, but he also can contribute rebounds and assists, which is what makes him such a valuable fantasy player. Walker should have a night out against the tanking Lakers, the only concern is a blowout.

Jameer Nelson ($10,950)

Nelson is an excellent play in today’s matches for a number of reasons. Firstly, he has been in good form since he took over the starting role from Emmanuel Mudiay, in the two weeks leading up to the All Star beak, Nelson was averaging 39.7 DS points. Secondly, Nelson is up against the Bulls, who are not the strongest team defensively, especially against guards.

Shooting Guard

Kentavious Caldwell-Pope ($8,700)

Caldwell-Pope has come back from the break in great form, averaging 42.25 DS points in his two matches. Caldwell-Pope is a great shooter from deep and can rack up huge scores if he gets hot. He has a good opportunity to get hot against the Trail Blazers who are not the strongest defensively, especially against perimeter shooters.

Brandon Ingram ($6,350)

With the Lakers effectively waving the white flag for the season, their focus is now on developing youth for the future. Ingram has been their most promising rookie and is being rewarded since the All Star break with his minutes jumping from mid-twenties to high thirties. He is still on a cheap salary that has not reflected his bump in minutes, which makes him a good value play.

Small Forward

Jimmy Butler ($17,700)

Butler has been as consistent as ever, picking up where he left off after the break. Butler posted a triple double in his last match the Cavaliers, finishing with 52 DS points. Butler is up there with the best in the league when it comes to consistency and it doesn’t appear as though that will change against the high scoring Nuggets.

Andre Roberson ($5,950)

Roberson is a very efficient player, he scores quite well for someone who has limited opportunities. With most of the focus on the Thunder is on star point guard Russell Westbrook, Roberson rarely has more than ten shot attempts. He takes high quality shots and produces reasonable numbers. It might be tough against a good defensive outfit in the Jazz, but he may have a night out if they focus too heavily on Westbrook.

Power Forward

Zach Randolph ($10,200)

Although veteran forward Randolph comes off the bench for the Grizzlies, he still receives quite a good rotation, playing for around 25-30 minutes per game. Randolph is a great rebounder and scorer who get every opportunity to rack up some good numbers against the Suns. With a blowout on the cards, Randolph may even get a bump in minutes as the bench unit gets more time.
NBA: Memphis Grizzlies at Phoenix Suns

Derrick Favors ($8,050)

Favors is having a very poor year for his standards, but he has seen a little improvement since he came back from All Star break. Favors averaged 32 DS points last season which has dropped to just over 20 this season, but he can score big here against a Thunder back court who lack size and quality. The Jazz defense is good enough to force poor shots from OKC and Favors should be there to crash the boards.

Centre

Andre Drummond ($15,150)

Drummond should be able to bully the poor Trail Blazers backcourt and dominate the paint. The Trail Blazers traded away their best big man (Plumlee) and replaced him with an average at best Jusuf Nurkic. On top of this, their first choice Power Forward has been absent all year, which means that the Blazer back court is very limited. Drummond is a monster who consistently collect 15+ rebounds and a similar number of points. Watch for him to have a huge day.
