Defenders
Heath Shaw – Greater Western Sydney – $13,050
Despite a significant drop in Shaw’s disposal and point tallies this season, his recent form against Essendon makes him a worthy option in Draftstars. Reaching 30 disposals in two of his past three games against the Bombers, he has returned scores of 125, 95 and 116 in that order.
Luke Ryan – Fremantle – $6,400
Ross Lyon is likely to swing the axe after last round’s 100-point belting at the hands of Adelaide. This could bring mature-age rookie Luke Ryan into the mix, after he was named as an emergency in Round 10. Ryan finished with 31 disposals and 114 points in his most recent WAFL match.
Defender/Midfielder
Brandon Ellis – Richmond – $12,350
Ellis ranks third at the Tigers for disposals won in the defensive half of the ground. His uncontested style of play is fantasy friendly, ranking third at the club for uncontested possessions and handball-receives in the defensive half. Ellis is coming off a season-high 126-point tally.
Midfielder/Forwards
Toby Greene – Greater Western Sydney – $13,750
Greene has played a key role in Giant wins at Spotless Stadium across the past two seasons, averaging 20 disposals, three goals and 96 points. He has scored 102 and 84 points in his two games already there this season, and boasts scores of 120 and 114 from his past two appearances against Essendon.
Shaun Higgins – North Melbourne – $12,350
Higgins has been a reliable scorer at Etihad Stadium all season, reaching 100 points in three of six games which includes a 112-point return last round against Carlton. Now playing as a permanent midfielder, he has boosted his disposal average to a career-high of 22 per game.
Midfielders
Joel Selwood – Geelong Cats – $15,350
Selwood has the runs on the board against Adelaide at Simonds Stadium, averaging 119 points from his six career games. He has won 34 disposals in each of his past three games at the venue against the Crows, scoring 132, 140 and 106 points in that order. Expect another decent haul on Friday night.
Steele Sidebottom – Collingwood – $14,900
Like Collingwood itself, Sidebottom’s return to form has been more than noticeable, scoring 109 and a season-high 139 points from his past two outings. Last round against Brisbane, he finished with team-highs of 34 disposals and 28 uncontested possessions. He finished strongly, scoring 41 points in the final term alone.
Matt Priddis – West Coast Eagles – $14,500
Dropping below 90 points just twice this season, Priddis’ consistency is a major strength. He’s every chance to break his previous best point tally of 120 this round against Gold Coast, a side he has averaged 31 disposals against across his career – his most any AFL side.
Lachie Neale – Fremantle – $13,650
Don’t take any notice of Neale’s season-low 17 disposals last round in the one-sided affair against Adelaide. He returns to Domain Stadium this round, a venue he has averaged 30 disposals, five tackles and 103 points at this season. He a safe pick in Draftstars.
Rucks
Todd Goldstein – North Melbourne – $14,700
Goldstein should bounce back this round after losing the ruck battle last week against Matthew Kreuzer. Considering the Tigers are the third-easiest side to win a hitout against this season, Goldstein should dominate Toby Nankervis in Round 11. Brodie Grundy, Sam Jacobs and Stefan Martin have all posted big numbers against the Tigers.
