Another Draftstars Saturday is upon us and I am shaking it up a bit this week. I generally tend to go for ‘guns and rookies’ for these multi-game contests but I am going with some mid-priced madness for this one. This Saturday is value o’plenty so get stuck in for this Saturday contest.

Here is a team you may consider for the AFL $30,000+ Saturday competition

Forward

Jayden Hunt ($9,250)

Jayden Hunt surged back into form last week at Melbourne’s home away from home, Darwin. The man who loves Nippy chocolate milk more than life itself had 27 disposals across half-back, ending the night on an imposing 111 Draftstars points. If you have been hiding under a rock, Hunt also brought back the torp and launched a thumping set shot from 61m. A lad with his scoring potential and level of footy energy at this price is too good to ignore.

Majak Daw ($7,850)

Didn’t think I’d ever be putting this fantasy unfriendly fella into my line-up but here we are. Big Majak is averaging just the 48 Draftstars points this season from his five games, with a high score of 58 points. This is largely due to the fact that he is playing mostly forward, but the shock axing of Toddy Goldstein sees Daw now entrusted with the #1 ruck spot. Up against Bellchambers he should get his fair share of hit-outs and get to a solid total for his low low price.

Midfield

Dan Hannebery ($13,300)

I am in disbelief. Dan Hannebery at $13.3l? It can’t be! Hanners had a month of poor form before his 112 Draftstars points last weekend against GWS. The Swans star averaged just 76 points across this period, which is why we can now nab him at a discount. Before this slump, Hannebery pumped out six tons in succession. He reached the ton last week so I reckon he’s back.

Luke Dahlhaus ($12,850)

Like many in the Bulldogs side, Luke Dahlhaus has had an average month or so. Dahl has failed to hit the elusive Draftstars ton in 10 weeks, but this week has a big opportunity to get one under his belt. The Doggies play the the Suns at Cazaly Stadium this weekend, where humid and scrappy conditions are generally present. These conditions suit him to a tee, so I’d expect a rise from him this weekend.

Tom Liberatore ($11,200)

And I said Luke Dahlhaus loves scrappy conditions. This guy LIVES for them. Libba responded solidly after two scores in the 50’s last week, hitting a score of 81 Draftstars points from his 18 disposals. This is the sort of game I can see Libba laying 10+ tackles and winning plenty of contested pill from the middle of the ground. Bit of value here I reckon.

Christian Petracca ($9,950)

Christian Petracca has been in some disappointing Draftstars form of late, failing to score above 75 over the past five weeks. Saturday is a bit of a ‘season defining’ match for the Dees and I still can’t forget his three goal effort on the big stage of Queens Birthday. I also am finding it difficult to ignore Christian Petracca at a price below $10k. Melbourne have plenty of inclusions so I reckon he will be firing just like them on Saturday.

Defence

Christian Salem ($11,950)

Christian Salem comes back into the Dees side for their crucial clash with the Power on Saturday afternoon. Melbourne love the ball in this blokes hands because he uses it pretty darn well with his left peg. Salem has averaged 86 Draftstars points so far this season, and has the capacity to hit big scores. He has surpassed the 110-point barrier on three occasions this season, which makes him a hell of a buy at $11,950.

Zak Jones ($10,650)

Zakary Jones has been a solid Draftstars performer this season, averaging 82 Draftstars points per game and staying around the price he sits currently. It is a bit of a gamble with Jones as he doesn’t mind producing a stinker, but he has churned out two 90+ totals in his past three games. Two of his three tons for the year have come at the SCG, so Jones is certainly worth taking the punt on.

Ruck

Jarrod Witts ($12,900)

If you have your witts about you, you’ll selecting this bloke as your ruckman. Puns aside, he has been in some formidable form of late, averaging 104 Draftstars points in the past three weeks. Wittsy faces Jordan Roughead on Saturday afternoon who he really should pants. He has gone above 40 hit-outs in his past three games and I can see him going past this easily against the Bulldogs at Cazaly Stadium, where it will be stoppages galore.
