Here is a team you may consider for the NFL $25,000+ Monday competition
Quarterback
Matt Ryan ($13,100)
Last season’s MVP has not been as damaging this season, that changes this week. Ryan and the Falcons faces up against the embattled Dolphins, who have had the week from hell. Ryan is poised to dominate this matchup, with his intention to play himself into form for his next few weeks where he faces the Patriots, Cowboys and Seahawks within his next four matches. Look for Ryan and the Falcons to air the ball out and look to run up the score.
Running Back
Lamar Miller ($12,500)
Miller and his Texans come up against the perennial cellar dwellers, the Browns in what looks like a lop-sided matchup. Miller has been going under the radar this year, with all the attention on the Texan’s rookie QB Deshaun Watson. The Texans should be comfortably ahead in this match, meaning that they should be running the ball heavily, which looks good for Miller. Miller has added pass catching to his repertoire, making him a true dual-threat, which is gold on Draftstars.
Running Back
Alvin Kamara ($11,850)
Speaking of dual-threat Running Backs, Kamara is one of the emerging talents in the league. Kamara is an explosive pass catching back, similar to Reggie Bush or Darren Sproles, who both started their careers at New Orleans. With the trading of Adrian Peterson, Kamara should see even more time in this game where the Saints come up against the Detroit Lions, who are not strong against opposing Running Backs.
Wide Receiver
Julio Jones ($13,500)
This will most likely be the cheapest that you ever see Julio Jones. $13,500 for a wide receiver of his caliber is crazy. Jones was quiet last week against the underrated Bills defence, but gets a great matchup here is what should be a blowout victory for the Falcons. Jones on his day is the best receiver in the league, he is an incredible athlete. Expect Jones to rack up some big number against the Dolphins.
Wide Receiver
Golden Tate ($12,000)
Golden Tate started the season in red hot form, but has slowed down a little bit in the last couple of weeks. He gets an opportunity to turn his form around with a big game here against the Saints who have an atrocious defence. The only concern is the health of Lion’s QB Matthew Stafford who got banged up in his last match against the Panthers. If Stafford is a late withdrawal, other suitable options include Larry Fitzgerald, Tyreek Hill and Mike Evans.
Tight End
Cameron Brate ($7,950)
Cameron Brate continues to develop strongly for the Buccaneers. The third year player has transformed himself into a consistent Tight End who is always a red zone threat. Brate has caught three TDs from his four games this year and looks likely to add to his tally here against the disappointing Cardinals. At his salary, Brate looks like an excellent value play.
Flex
Chris Hogan ($11,050)
Hogan has transformed himself into Tom Brady’s favourite target in Julian Edelman’s absence, catching five touchdowns in as many matches. Hogan is deceptively fast and whilst he may not catch a lot of balls, he almost always averages over 10 yards per catch. Hogan and the Pats face up against the Jets in what should really be a blowout victory. The Jets have been surprisingly good so far this year, but should be no match for the high powered Pats. Look for Hogan to run amok and score big.
Flex
Michael Crabtree ($11,050)
Crabtree came back from injury with a bang against the Ravens, finishing with 82 receiving yards and a touchdown in the Raiders’ loss. Crabtree should get a boost in numbers this week with the return of Derek Carr. It also helps that they face up against the Chargers who have one good defensive back, Casey Hayward, who will most likely matchup on Amari Cooper. Crabtree looks poised to continue his good form.
Defense
Jacksonville Jaguars ($7,000)
The Jaguars defence, known as the Teal Curtain, has been one of the real surprise packets this year. They have lifted what many thought to be a basket case to be sitting at 3 wins and 2 losses and leading their division. The Jags picked off Ben Roethlisberger five times last week and ran two of them back for touchdowns. The Jags come up against the Rams who have been solid, but struggled against the top teams. Look for the Teal Curtain to smother the Rams.
