NBA $10,000 THURSDAY: TIPS & SELECTIONS
The regular season is quickly winding down, but NBA Thursday has rolled around once more with a six game menu.
Undoubtedly, the highlight of the night sees the Warriors visiting the Rockets in a huge Western conference showdown.
A critical game in the East sees seventh place Detroit visit eight see Miami.
Across the conferences, East six seed Brooklyn takes a tough trip to OKC to take on the Western fourth seed Thunder.
Draftstars has $10,000 up for grabs in the Thursday jackpot.
Stephen Curry – PG/SG – $17,320
The Warriors head to Houston in what many expect to be a preview of the Western conference finals. Kevin Durant has been ruled out of this contest, which means Chef Curry is set for a big uptick in usage. Curry will have to deal with a strong defensive presence in Chris Paul, but with these two high-octane offenses there should be a huge amount of points in this contest. In two games against the Rockets this season, Curry has put up 50 and 46.75 Draftstars points, both of these performances came with KD in the lineup.
Jonas Valanciunas – C – $12,410
The big Lithuanian has been fantastic since joining Memphis. Despite playing reduced minutes in Toronto, he was having arguably his best season before being sidelined through injury, and since coming back from injury on his new team has picked up where he left off on a team that is giving him more minutes and more touches on offense. He gets Atlanta on the road here, the worst defense in the league. JV tore Atlanta up in his last game against them with 24 points and 13 boards.
Kevin Huerter – SG – $8,070
Red Mamba sprung back to form in his last outing, his minutes bounced back up to 30 and he dropped 27 points in the process. We’ve seen Huerter deliver outings like this before, but he has struggled of late, his minutes have been down, and his price has dropped as a result. That makes him an alluring gamble here against a Memphis team that isn’t the staunch defensive unit they once were and can be susceptible from deep.
Kelly Oubre Jr – SF/PF – $12,910
Oubre continues to fire in Phoenix, averaging 21 points and seven rebounds over his last four games. What goes unnoticed is that Oubre continuously chips in across the entire stat sheet, along with his usual points, rebounds and assists he has also contributed at least one block and one steal in each of his last five games. He does come up against the Jazz who are one of the toughest defenses in the NBA, but he has proven capable of scoring on strong defenses before and is at a good price given his recent exploits.
Langston Galloway – SG/PG – $6,310
This slate is short on cut price options, but if you’re digging for a cheap pick cast your eyes to Langston Galloway. Miami can be a tough task, but he did scorch the Heat for 17 points when they last clashed at the end of February. Galloway has put up 9, 21, 15 and 11 points in his last four games. Not mind blowing numbers, but at this price there isn’t many choices out there.
