AFL SWANS V CROWS $40,000+ CHEAT SHEET
A tight salary cap ensures coaches will have to go looking for some diamonds in the rough tonight.
Its a tricky Friday night single gamer with both teams stinking it up in R1 making it tough for coaches to justify price tags almost across the board.
Biggest thing we need to keep coming back to here is to largely disregard last-start scores. Step two is to assume the game will be a very hotly contested one and to prioritise players that can tackle and find the footy when it’s tight and tough.
Here is my team you can consider using, or building around, for the Swans v Crows $40k tonight
FORWARD
Tom Lynch ($11,490)
Paying up for Lynch is a big POD selection here. With Grundy out for the Swans the flow-on effect is that Lynch probably gets a much softer matchup for most of the game and I think they will really look for him here. Capable of a a fantasy ton and if he gets even close, will drag this team right to the top.
Taylor Walker ($8,290)
Again, targeting the Grundy omission and also a drop in salary here for the big Texan. Should (repeat, SHOULD) monster Allir Allir and/or Melican. We are building for a dominant Adelaide win tonight so Tex goes in.
MIDFIELD
Rory Sloane ($13,620)
Must eat the chalk hre, and he will be chalky. Likely 60%+ tonight. 37 disposals first up and can absolutely repeat. Fade at your peril.
Harry Cunningham ($11,950)
Cunningham started on fantasy fire in the first quarter against the Dogs, its a worrying trend of his game that he is capable of a 30-40pt opening quarter but fades to notch the triple figure score. His run and carry will be needed big time tonight, price is right and could be overlooked by a few at that price given his first-up 82pts.
Riley Knight ($9,490)
Price selection here, like his chances of a few sausage rolls tonight in a possible McVeigh tag. Has a great 35-40pt tackle ceiling and conditions suit for the tacklers tonight.
Oliver Florent ($8,720)
Love this kid. Is just not getting used that much by his teammates, he is getting to the spots where the short kick or lateral kick is on but not getting hit. Capable of a 20 disposal 80+ tonight.
DEFENDERS
Wayne Milera ($11,980)
Very keen to see how Milera goes here with Seedsman returning. Expect plenty will jump off Milera which makes me very interested to stick with him as I expect him to remain in that half back/wing role. Big POD selection.
Zak Jones ($10,100)
Will be very chalky given his round one 90+ but he just makes heaps of sense here at home. Always puts in max effort, has a great defensive floor – both aspects we are targeting. Not overthinking this one.
RUCK
Callum Sinclair ($13,970)
Paid up for Sinclair who I expect will be 30% owned. Loves to tackle and will have to do plenty of it as well as drift forward and snag a few. Beats Sauce Jacobs by 20+ here.
