PGA $5,000+ SANDERSON FARMS CHAMPIONSHIP

The PGA Tour moves to Mississippi this week for the Sanderson Farms where getting 6/6 through will mean a big payday!

Last week we saw how valuable getting 6/6 through the cut was in terms of a top 20 finish, so this week we are trying to build that team that will all see weekend action.

Our team last week had the winner in Niemann but it also had Marc Leishman who didn’t even play Friday – will be a long time before we go back to him!

PGA $5,000+ SANDERSON FARMS CHAMPIONSHIP

Brandt Snedeker ($21,900): Sneds looms as the forgotten man up top with the field likely to gravitate to Niemann or Glover. He hasn’t played this course before but he can get very hot with the putter and he can’t get into much trouble off the tee here which can be a weakness. If he gets a few to drop early there could be a few crazy low rounds in Sneds which is what we will need here in a birdie-fest type tournament.

Scottie Scheffler ($18,610): Ranked #1 in this field for ball striking he just needs to putt well and he will crack the fantasy ton this week. Likely to be pretty highly owned on the back of his T10 last week especially seeing as he was in the mix for two days almost. Just hits it too good to leave out.

Vaughan Taylor ($16,780): Anyone selecting on statistics this week will have Taylor in their teams as he rates well across all categories and has solid course history. I don’t see Taylor getting right up the top end here but he is a really safe T10-20 selection and given we’ve taken some risks elsewhere, Taylor is needed to anchor down some points.

Aaron Wise ($16,300): Being highly touted this week which is never a great thing with Wise. He can bomb with the absolute best of them but he shouldnt get in too much trouble here off the tee so he does have a chance to catch fire. Can stick his approaches and decent with the flatstick. Expect him to make the weekend at worst.

Matt Jones ($14,190): Crushed it off the tee and on approach last week to finish T10 and gets bermuda greens where he much prefers to putt. Not great course history at all herewith three missed cuts from three starts, but the ball striking last week was as good as it’s been. If he can bring that here and putt even half well he will smash value.

Michael Thompson ($11,670): Really hoping this guy won’t be our Leishman this week. Had a pretty poor end to the Fed Ex but the run he was on mid-year was amazing and he is the kind of player we were looking for here, a guy who won’t get into much trouble off the tee, can fire up his irons and drain the putts. Thompson can putt. No one ever plays him either. Big POD play.
