Here is a team you may consider for the BBL $10k+ Renegades v Scorchers competition:

Wicketkeeper

Sam Whiteman ($8,000)

Whiteman has been consistent in his two matches so far, scoring 41 and 45 DS points. Whiteman gets the nod over former test player, Nevill, due to his prominence in their respective batting lineups. Whiteman will be in the top 4, whereas Nevill will come in at 6 or 7. He was one of the only Perth batsmen to look comfortable batting against the Sixers, scoring a quick 28 off 16 balls.

Batsmen

Shaun Marsh ($19,500)

Marsh looked in decent touch before holing out to Doug Bollinger against the Sixers. If Marsh was fit a week earlier, he would likely be in the Test XI, he is a very classy batsmen, who is suited by the T20 game. If Marsh wants to be playing for Australia in the upcoming test, or in the ODIs, he needs to make some runs for the Scorchers. This is an excellent opportunity against a classy bowling attack.

Aaron Finch ($24,900)

Finch made a statement against the Thunder, blasting 63 from 37 deliveries on his way to a staggering 140 DS points. Finch will be keen to keep his form going and he gets a good matchup to do so. Perth are missing a couple of their better bowlers. Finch has a great pair of hands, so any catch that comes his way he will swallow.

Bowlers

Brad Hogg ($10,050)

It is unfair to say that Hogg wound back the clock with another masterclass, because at 45, he is bowling just as well as ever. Hogg bamboozled yet another batting lineup, with figures of 2/22 off 4 overs. It is remarkable that even after plying his trade at first class level for 25 years, no one can pick his wrong’un. Hogg lines up against his old team and he will be fired up for a big performance. The only risk is that they have all faced him in the nets, but it is well worth the risk.

Chris Tremain ($11,050)

Tremain is the quiet achiever of the Renegade’s fist rate bowling lineup. He took just the one wicket against the Thunder, but did not concede many runs, finishing with figures of 1/8 off 4 overs. Tremain finished with 59 DS points, he can easily top that figure if he picks up a couple of wickets.

Allrounder

Mitchell Marsh ($17,500)

Marsh has been in great form with the white ball recently. He played a lone hand in the Scorchers last match, hitting a steady 32 runs. He also took a wicket in the two overs he bowled. Marsh is a great all-rounder to select because he will bat in the top 4 and bowl most of his allotted overs. He, like his brother Shaun, will be keen to remind selectors of his quality and a strong showing here would do a lot.

Flex

Ashton Turner ($8,000)

Turner was a revelation in the Scorchers first match, blasting 44 runs, but struggled against the Sixers, only scoring six. He is an emerging batsmen and can definitely bounce back here. Turner is a strong finisher of an innings and could be needed to score quick runs against the quality bowling lineup that the Renegades possess.
