AFL $2,000+ Swans v Bombers Line-Up
The last time these two sides played, it was an absolute epic. The Bombers capitulated in the last three minutes, and Bruce McAvaney changed Gary Rohan’s name to ‘Mark Mark Mark Rohan’. I am forecasting a much different result this time around, though. Stock up on Swans players, because this could be getting ugly.
Here is a team you may consider for the AFL $2,000+ Swans v Bombers competition
Forward
Tom Papley ($10,300)
He may be one of the biggest pests in the competition, but Tom Papley has been in reasonable Draftstars form over the last month. The nippy little man has averaged 79 Draftstars points during this period, including two totals over 80. I would expect Papley to get on the end of a few with the ball likely to be in Sydney’s attacking half more often than not.
Gary Rohan ($8,950)
Like most small forwards, Gary Rohan is a very inconsistent scorer. His recent form has been solid however, averaging 75 Draftstars points over his past three compared to 61 in for the year. He had a very nice outing the last time he took the park, booting three goals and posting 87 points against the Blues. With the Swans likely to win comfortably, I like the chances of reaching a good total on Saturday.
Midfield
Luke Parker ($14,750)
Lukey Parker has been in some very nice form over the past month, churning out three 110+ totals and averaging 107 Draftstars points. The ball-winning midfielder is generally the barometer in the Swans engine room, and I can see Parker turning it on at the SCG. Bombers don’t look to tag nowadays and with Hocking coming out of the side, he should be able to roam free and have a big one.
Isaac Heeney ($12,250)
It was a rare blip on Isaac Heeney’s radar in Round 23 against the Blues. The blond-bombshell could only muster 64 Draftstars points and 12 posssessions despite the Swans’ dominant second half display. Not to worry, as Heeney is a proven performer in finals – he was simply outstanding in the 2016 finals series. His 65 in his last game makes his price an attractive $12.25k, an offer that I don’t think we can pass up.
Jarrad McVeigh ($12,050)
Jarrad McVeigh plays his 299th match this weekend against the Bombers, and should get to his 300th the week after. The experienced campaigner underperformed against the Blues last week, claiming just 14 disposals on his way to 63 Draftstars points. This broke three straight 80+ totals, which he should get to in this one. Signed a year extension during the week so he will be choc-full of confidence.
David Myers ($9,350)
David Myers has been pretty underwhelming this season, averaging just the 65 Draftstars points per game. The Bomber has managed to record some solid scores along the way though, posting four 80+ totals from his 14 games. One of those was recently in Round 22, racking up 17 touches and 84 points. There really isn’t much cheapie action going on here, so you could do worse
Defence
Zak Jones ($10,800)
Zakariah Jones has been producing the goods over his past few, averaging an impressive 90 Draftstars points per game along with 23 touches. All the red and the white should have a pretty good day, so the balding man looks to be a bit of a bargain here. Jones was out with suspension the last time the last time the Swans played the Bombers, so he should be twice as determined to go out there and stick it up ‘em.
Dane Rampe ($9,500)
Dane Rampe has been fairly average in 2017 but he does tend to throw in the odd good score. Rampe generally falls around the 50-70 mark but has posted three 85+ scores for the season. Certainly not setting any Draftstars records, but he is a player capable of racking up intercept marks in defence. A big Swans win should see a 50-70 become a 70-90 on Saturday afternoon.
Ruck
Tom Bellchambers ($11,700)
It is the obvious option to select the lone ruck up against two Swans sharing the duties. Tom Bellchambers has been on fire in recent weeks, punching out totals of 114 and 116 in his past two matches. Admittedly, this has been against average ruck opponents in Keegan Brooksby and Jonothon Griffin, but Sinclair and Naismith aren’t exactly star big men. Should deliver.
