AFL $20,000+ Crows v Swans Line-Up

As it stands, the Crows sit a game and a half clear on top and look to be absolutely flying, while the Swans look equally as good in 5th place. This game should be an absolute Nathan Krakouer (booted six in the SANFL last week, good on him), but as always it will be an enticing night for Draftstars.

Here is a team you may consider for the AFL $20,000+ Crows v Swans competition

Forward

Hugh Greenwood ($10,900)

Hugh Greenwood gave those who whacked him in their sides last week a fairly average return. Greenwood laid 13 tackles a fortnight ago on his way to 97 Draftstars points, but could only manage the one against the Bombers, managing a score of just 64. His past three games at Adelaide Oval have been rather impressive, though, posting totals of 122, 85 and 97 at a handy average of 101.3. Will his nice run in Adelaide continue?

Tom Papley ($9,650)

Tom Papley didn’t go very big last week for a game where the ball was on a platter for forwards. The cheeky small forward scored just the 57 Draftstars points from his 16 disposals and two goals, failing to come to the party. Maybe Papley thrives on the contests that actually matter? This would explain his three goals hauls in his previous two games against Geelong (75 points) and Hawthorn (100). Can see Papples getting on the end of a few.

Midfield

Brad Crouch ($13,800)

While his brother Matt was gathering disposals for fun last week, Brad Crouch had a harder time finding the Sherrin. BCrouch finished with 20 disposals (his lowest tally for the season) and just 79 Draftstars points. This has caused his price to dip somewhat, giving him a bit of value here. Quite a bit of value for a man who had posted nine tons and a 95 in his previous 10 games before that aberrational effort last week. Amassed 129 in his last game at Adelaide Oval.

Rory Atkins ($11,650)

Here is a guy that loves Adelaide Oval. Interestingly enough, Atkins actually raised the bat for a ton away from the place last week. Atkins was allowed to do as he pleased last weekend against the Bombers, claiming 27 touches and booting a long range snag on his way to 103 Draftstars points. This was probably to balance out his total of 60 against the Power in the wet the week before (in the wet, mind you). Playing in Adelaide and in a bit of form, he is a good get for his price.

Jake Lloyd ($11,500)

Jake Lloyd has been a touch quitter since Jarrad McVeigh returned to the Swans backline, but last week saw him hit a bit of form. Llooooyd pumped out 93 Draftstars points in Sydney’s walk-over win against the Dockers, his first 90+ total since Round 15. I reckon Nic Newman’s injury during the game had something to do with his higher possession count in recent weeks, and he is on the sidelines for this clash. Liking Lloyd chances of #delivering.

David Mackay ($10,000)

I find that David Mackay kind of just blends in with the furniture at West Lakes because I never really notice him. With a serious lack of cheapies in this contest, I gave his recent form a look and he is at a pretty good price for what he can produce. Don’t be fooled by his average of 67.7 – it includes his injury affected score of 4 a fortnight ago in the Showdown. Mackay posted his maiden ton for the year last week and has posted 80+ in four of his last five (non-injury affected) games. Va-lueeee avenueee.

Defence

Zak Jones ($10,100)

Zak Jones has put together a solid Draftstars campaign in 2017, averaging 78 points per game for the bloods. His most recent return of 94 points was rather fruitful, but with Zakary you get of two things – a 90+, or a stinker. Well, this has been the case over the past couple of months anyway, with three 90+ and four below 65 (including a sickening 31). Risk it, biscuit, etc.

Jake Kelly ($8,650)

Jake Kelly is a bit of a ‘no cheap options anywhere’ sort of selection but he is capable of the odd once in a blue moon sort of effort. He put in a solid performance last weekend, clunking nine marks to accompany his 14 touches and 73 points. Knows how to take a grab and scored a ton against the Bulldogs on Friday night footy several weeks ago.

Ruck

Sam Jacobs ($13,650)

I like the ruck selection of Sam Jacobs here despite the extra spend. He is a lone ruckman playing two fairly average ruckman in Sinclair and Tippett. Last time Jacobs graced the Adelaide Oval he pantsed Paddy Ryder and won the Showdown Medal with an imposing 125 Draftstars points. Is one who will most likely be a negative POD if you choose to overlook him.
