Here is a team you may consider for the AFL $30,000+ Cats v Tigers competition

Forward

Jack Riewoldt ($10,700)

Jack Riewoldt has had a solid season without really dominating. The Tiger spearhead has averaged 77 Draftstars points per game and booting 50 goals in 2017. Riewoldt played well in his last outing against the Saints, posting 80 Draftstars points and kicking three majors. Considering this was up against Jake Carlisle, he is evidently in good knick. Kicked 1.3 against the Cats a few weeks ago and should get a similar amount of opportunities on Friday night.

Steven Motlop ($10,100)

Steven Motlop is the kind of player that can almost single-handedly win a final, but he is also capable of absolute tripe. Motlop played one of his better games for the year against the Tigers, yet managed just the 62 Draftstars points. He also booted an inaccurate 1.4 and scored 88 points last year against them at the ‘G last season. One who could put on a show.

Midfield

Mitch Duncan ($15,000)

While many will be eyeballing your Dangerfields, Selwoods and Martins here is one man who has flown under the Draftstars radar this year. Mitch Duncan is his name and he has averaged 113 Drafftstars points game this season in what has been a phenomenal year for him. I’d expect JSelwood to cop some attention and the Dusty and Danger are very high in price. A ‘risk it to get the biscuit’ approach is generally what will get you the chocolates in this format, and selecting Duncan is the play that could separate you from the rest.

Dion Prestia ($13,450)

Dion Prestia has lifted his Draftstars output in the past month, averaging 107 Draftstars points per game. This has been largely due to him playing more midfield minutes in lock-down roles, his best being against Tom Mitchell where he yielded 125 Draftsatrs points from 31 disposals. I can see Prestia going to either Joel Selwood or Dangerfield (most likely Selwood considering Danger is just about impossible to stop) and it should see him produce a formidable total.

Jack Graham ($9,750)

I really just can’t get enough of this fella. Jack Graham has burst onto the Draftstars scene in his two games to date, posting 84 in both. Perhaps more significant is his tackle numbers, averaging an impressive nine tackles to go with his 15 touches per game. Another who will look to crack in hard all day, especially considering his spot is on the line.

James Parsons ($6,400)

James Parsons comes in at an extreeemely low price for this one. While he is prone to the odd 30, don’t let his score 13 against the Giants fool you. The youngster went off with an ankle injury in the second quarter and didn’t return to the field. The week off will have done him the world of good, and his last game at the ‘G vs the Pies yielded 66 Draftstars points. Allows you to splash cash elsewhere.

Defence

Cam Guthrie ($11,300)

Cam Guthrie has been spending more time in the midfield of late which has seen his scoring potential soar. The man with the flowing blond locks is going at 89 Draftstars points in his past three, including an impressive 101 point display against the Tigers. The Cats used Guthrie in a bit of a lock-down role in this one, and it wouldn’t surprise me if they do it again.

Nick Vlastuin ($11,250)

Nick Vlastuin has been a picture of Draftstars consistency in recent weeks. Vlastuin has posted totals of 93, 92 and 92 over the past three matches, averaging nine marks and 23 disposals per outing. Yep, it doesn’t get more consistent than those scores. Has been a player the Tigers look to get the ball to in defence, and I reckon he’ll produce another score around the 92-93 mark.

Ruck

Zac Smith ($11,750)

Those in the Draftstars ‘know’ pick their ruckman first as it has the ability to shape the financial dynamic of your side. In this one I feel the decision is quite obvious, considering Nank the Tank is priced at a whopping $13,100 after a couple of massive scores. Zac Smith is by far the better hit-out ruckman and should dominate in this department. Will save you $1.4k and should score more than Nank.
