AFL $30,000+ Saturday Line-Up
It’s that time of the week where we can put our feet up on the couch and enjoy another Draftstars Saturday. There is more cheap options than you poke a stick at in this one, as well as a couple of matches that look like being blowouts. Choose wisely.
Here is a team you may consider for the AFL $30,000+ Saturday competition
Forward
Jeremy Cameron ($11,850)
Jeremy Cameron has had an impressive goal kicking and Draftstars season, averaging 92 points and booting 41 sausage rolls in 2017. However, Cameron’s past fortnight has been below his usual output, kicking jus the two majors and averaging 80 points. He comes up against a pretty average Fremantle line-up on Saturday, one that I expect him to put to the sword. Scored 132 against the Lions a few weeks back, and I reckon he will produce a similar result this time around.
Jayden Hunt ($10,750)
I went with old mate Jayden last week and it paid handsome dividends, with the running defender with the colourful headband posting 111 Draftstars points – a remarkable score considering he was under $10k. He has risen $1.5k in value since last week, but there is still definitely some value to be had here. Hunt has scored 111 two weeks in a row and you know what they say; good things come in threes.
Midfield
Brad Ebert ($14,900)
Brad Ebert is one of those players who falls under the radar from a fantasy perspective despite continuing to get the job done. The Power midfielder is going at 106 Draftstars points per game, including 116 in his past three. His price is still at a bit of a discount due to a three week down patch before this period. Port Adelaide should dominate a Riewoldt/Montagna-less Saints and I can see Bradley getting on top in the middle.
Josh Kelly ($14,850)
I don’t usually go with two ‘big guns’ (aka two players over $14k) in the midfield, but with a plethora of cheap options at our disposal, it’d be rude not to splash out. Josh Kelly has gone at 112 Draftstars points per game this season, I figure that has him underpriced at $14.85k I reckon. A modest 23 disposal, 98 point game against the Tigers has seen his price dip somewhat, but he should have a stellar game against the dismal Dockers.
Matt De Boer ($8,800)
Matty De Boer slots back into the Giants side after a week on the sidelines with injury. You are probably wondering why I am telling you to get around a guy who scored 6 points in his last game. Well, De Boer played just 18% of this encounter due to the head knock that kept him out of last week’s game. Here we have a guy who has posted three 70+ totals this season at a cheap price thanks to this injury. Should be fired up playing against the side he was delisted from.
Brady Grey ($6,950)
Here we have a similar situation to De Boer, except Grey had his injury affected game over a month ago. He then returned to the side and posted scores of 40 and 60, which led to him getting dropped. Now he is back in Dockers’ colours, and I reckon he’ll want to put in a good showing to ensure he isn’t thrown back into the WAFL. You could do a lot worse for under $7k.
Defence
Nathan Wilson ($9,550)
I was originally going to chuck the returning Steven May in this spot, until he was then withdrawn from the side due to injury. In you come, Nathan. I am actually pretty surprised to see Nathan Wilson at this cheap price, but this is because he is a fairly inconsistent running defender. Wilson reached a very solid total of 86 Draftstars points last week, which you would take every day of the week for what you are paying for.
Nick Vlastuin ($9,200)
Nick Vlastuin has had a couple of decent scores since returning to the Tiger side. In the past fortnight, Vlas had churned out scores of 87 and 81 while playing in defence. Last weekend saw the Sam McClure lookalike collect 21 disposals and remarkably, 11 marks in the wet. Nicholas loves to tackle, and I’d say the Metricon Stadium conditions will suit him well.
Ruck
Jarrod Witts ($12,750)
I suggested to get Witts in last week and he failed me. But this week, he comes up against The Nank in the ruck, which makes him likely to dominate in the hit-out department. Oh, and Ivan Soldo as well. Witts has averaged 38 hit-outs to go with his 93 Draftstars points this season, and I think he will be hitting around the 50 mark against this duo. Should ton up.
