AFL $40,000+ BULLDOGS V MAGPIES

Can you afford to fade Brodie Grundy today? That is THE question that every coach must start with.

The answer to that question is yes, yes we can afford to fade the player who will undoubtedly be the highest scoring player on this slate.

In fact Grundy would break dfs records today up against young English who every ruck this season has got a hold off, but he is 17k and even IF he does return a monster 60 hitout, 10 tackle, 10 mark, 20 disposal game, the damage that selecting him does to your side is significant.

Picking Grundy you are needing him to clear 150 and then also needing English and Cox to both absolutely suck.

Here is my team you can consider using, or building around, for the 40k Bulldogs v Magpies contest.

FORWARD

Will Hoskin-Elliot ($10,460): Just have to see his marks increasing to realise that WHE is rounding into some really solid fantasy form. No Stephensen only increases his potential to rack up marks and sneak into some goals. Will be chalky though coming off a ton.

Josh Dunkley ($14,560): Should comfortably beat every other forward by at least 30ts and could challenge Grundy as the highest-scoring player on the slate. No Libba and McLean this week so expect Dunkley to play bulk midfield mins again. Pendles run-with a slight concern.

MIDFIELD

Chris Mayne ($12,920): POD Play. Capable of 120+ ceiling in fast, free-flowing games which this one certainly will be. Has a great 80-90pt floor so he won’t kill you if he bombs.

Brayden Sier ($10,500): First-up 95pts says it all. Will likely be over 50% owned and you just have to eat it and pick him. He will score well again.

Patrick Lipinski ($10,770): His 129pts last start was amazing to watch. 29 disposals, 8 marks, 5 tackle and 2 goals it was completely out of left field but it has compelled me to go back. That game may just have been his breakout.

Bailey Smith ($10,030): With no Libba in the side and Bont needed to help in the forward line there will be onball minutes for youngster Smith here. I’m not expecting him to smash but i think a 75-85pt game is very achievable which is solid as your last midfielder in.

DEFENDERS

Caleb Daniel ($13,120): In fast games, you have to take Daniel. He will get his 30 touches here on ton up.

Taylor Duryea ($8,020): Coming back into the side and has seen a price drop, capable of a 75-80pt game. Even if he drops to a mid 60’s it is still a good return at the price.

RUCK

Mason Cox ($9,070): No Grundy for me. I just can’t pay that much for him i don’t care who he is playing on. If Cox gets me an 80 I’m happy.
