AFL $50,000+ SATURDAY
The final Saturday of the regular season is sure to throw up plenty of curve balls for coaches – this looks like a real ‘trust your gut’ type slate today!
The problems start in the ruck with no clear ‘safe’ selection that won’t cost you and arm and a midfielder and the selection dilemmas continue right through the slate.
The game in the west looks a great dfs scoring game whilst the Demons and Suns have no doubt been targeted by every coach and their aunty as teams to stack against particularly forward of center.
Here is my team you can consider using, or building around, for today’s $50,000+ Saturday slate.
FORWARD
Jeremy Cameron ($11,630): This is one you have to have I think. He will murder the Suns tonight. Can see him kicking 7-8 minimum. Will always get hit on the lead, and no Greene means he will be the lead up the ground to turn and hit Finlayson or Himmelberg. Be chalky but it’s good chalk.
Nick Larkey ($7,430): Hopefully it doesn’t rain in Hobart this afternoon because if it’s dry, the Kangas tall forward should have a very good day out against the Demons ‘defence’. Need some exposure to that game in case North put 100 on them and Larkey is cheap enough to provide both cap relief as well as possible big value game.
MIDFIELD
Tim Kelly ($13,110): Just have a feeling he will want a big game to finish the home and away, to get clubs interested in adding a few zero’s to his 2020 price tag. Won’t be tagged so he should be able to run around all day and find his own footy.
Jardo Polec ($12,530): Loves a good downhill ski and the pow pow doesn’t get better than Melbourne in Tassie in a dead rubber. Should back up his 117 last start with something similar.
Isaac Smith ($12,540): Should love the wide expanses of Optus across half back and on the wing. Do like favouring leadership players in final round dead rubber teams because you just know they will not drop the head or go missing as much. Three figures pretty safe.
Jordan Dawson ($11,220): Bit of a POD play for this side, Dawson will get to spend more time onball today with McVeigh and Buddy back at either end. Think he can sneak a goal or two and really push for a value game at single digit ownership.
DEFENDERS
Zac Williams ($14,380): No Greene means Williams needs to play onball again, he will smash the Suns tonight. Hoping that his ownership remains low given his price but i think a 120-130pt game here is well within reach.
Heath Shaw ($10,990): Without Nick Haynes to intercept, we are looking at Shaw and Keefe to chop off the Suns horrid forways forward. Just the kind of heater junk game.
RUCK
Lachie Keefe ($5,890): I hate the rucks today. Preuss kills Gawn, Marshall is too dear – I’m just really not loving anything. Maybe Hickey? Maybe Esava? We’re going with Keefe who will play back and should get a good 30-40pt floor in intercept marks alone.
