AFL $50,000+ SATURDAY

Heaps of value and a huge $50k up for grabs on this ripper five game Saturday slate

The first big question coaches will face is whether or not to Grundy today and with so much value and scoring potential elsewhere I just can’t justify the price tag.

Going for a good ol’ fashioned midfield stack today hoping for our four prime movers to all hit 130+ which means we need to start with some value plays to compensate and the first stop is in the ruck where young Darcy Fort looks too good to refuse.

Every great side has a superstar midfield and Sloane, Merrett, Fyfe and Neale is a pretty good start!

Here is my team you can consider using, or building around, for the Saturday $50,000+ contest.

FORWARD

Jack Sinclair ($10,020): Really solid selection today, will be a fierce game where Sinclair will be able to hit his tackle ceiling and should finish around that 15-18 disposal, 6-8 tackle mark and give 90+ a good look.

Brandan Parfitt ($10,540): Has a 110+ ceiling but we are selecting Parfitt for his floor today. Will find the footy and lay his tackles on the way to an 80-90+. If we can clear 180 from our forward line this afternoon we’ll take that all day.

MIDFIELD

Rory Sloane ($15,430): No Matty Crouch means plenty of coaches will target the Adelaide midfield in some capacity but for me Sloane looms as the clear choice. Lions don’t tag and I can see Sloane needing to play a big game this afternoon in Brisbane just for his side to be in the game.

Zac Merrett ($15,270): One never really knows what Ross Lyon will conjure up in terms of run-with roles but if Merrett is not tagged or contained he will hit 130 here. Few guys out of that midfield rotation only helps him.

Lachie Neale ($15,380):I’d be surprised if Ellis-Yolmen doesn’t spend some time with Neale and i’d also be surprised if he makes one iota of difference. Neale is an absolute gun and with Cutler coming out, with no Taylor as well for Brisbane, Neale can get those cheap kicks through work rate as well as win it in close. Love him today.

Nat Fyfe ($15,050): What is there to say, he is probably the best dfs midfielder on the slate both in terms of floor and ceiling today. Slight concern how much time he may spend forward with Blakely coming back into the side Fyfe may rest up there but he can mark and goal as easily as he can clear the footy in tight so i’m not too worried. Freo need this game and they will need their captain.

DEFENDERS

Darcy Moore ($8,040): This is where it starts to get ugly, we’re costing ourselves plenty in opportunity taking two min pricers and Moore. If we get 200pts out of thgese three guys we’re laughing and Moore can start us off with a solid 70-80pt game here intercepting over a pretty small St Kilda fwd line.

Mitchell Hinge ($5,000): Hinge could be a great smoky today playing across half back where he averaged 16 disposals, 5 marks and 2 tackles per game from 15 NEAFL games in 2018. Likes to intercept so if the Lions midfield can put pressure on the delivery, Hinge is in play. On his third year on the Lions list too so has some experience with two seasons of NEAFL already. Probably playing for a contract.

RUCK

Darcy Fort ($5,000):With Trengove rucking solo for the Dogs, Geelong has brought in Fort for a two-ruck combo where Fort and Stanley will ruck and rest forward. They need to see what they have in Fort who averaged 17 disposals in the SANFL last season (averaged 123 Champ Data ranking points across 13 SANFL matches!). Value too good to pass up.
