AFL $60,000+ DEMONS V SWANS

So. Much. Value! Despite Gawn’s price tag, this could be the most even, most fun Friday night of dfs for 2019!

It seems counter-intuitive to have a single slate with what will be a popular 18k ruckman and for there to still be heaps of build options and value, but that is what we’ve got folks.

We are building around the Demons being both really sh*t both going inside 50 and also defensively, whilst at the same time giving their kids some increased time onball – what? It might happen!

Here is my team you can consider using, or building around, for CONTEST

FORWARD

Dan Menzel ($7,420): Anytime you are starting your team with D Menzel you need to seriously question whether you are in the right caper but tonight I feel confident that Menzel will not only get through the game, but have a big 80+ game and kick a few goals. My only fear here is whether he will be chalky or not. I am hoping not but expecting him to be over 30% which scares the bejebus out of me.

Sam Reid ($10,330): It’s Melbourne sans May – you take the opposition key forward every day. Reid will get Lever who is a good defender but will be outsized and if the supply is good from Sydney’s mids, Reid will be on the lead all night. Again, it’s Melbourne. Ceiling games happen.

MIDFIELD

Jordan Dawson ($11,760): Bit of a POD play but it is in keeping with our theme of taking interceptors for Sydney who can pick off the woeful Demons ball movement inside 50. Dawson will also be given a license to float forward and try and kick a few which he absolutely can here so long as he avoids Gawn.

Oliver Florent ($11,520): His last two games have been over 27 touches so clearly his halfback role is suiting him. No Jones as well tonight makes Florent an almost auto-pick. His floor scares me greatly, especially as he will probably be 40%+ tonight, but the recent form is great.

Kyle Dunkley ($7,660): With Chandler coming in to play that pressure forward role and Oliver likely to have company, Melbourne will need some ball winners in and under so we are taking the two cheap Demon mids and hoping for a paid or 70+ games. Solid signs from Dunkley last start, just need that tackle count to start picking up to see a big score.

Corey Wagner ($7,600): Solid pivot play away from the cheap 5k chalk of Chandler and if you look at his last two weeks, there is a compelling case to take him. Hoping to get him really underowned and see him fire off an 80+.

DEFENDERS

Dane Rampe ($13,050): Like Dawson, Rampe is installed here to take advantage of Melbournes poor kicking. Last time they met he scores a 94 which will be enough here unless Lloyd goes proper nuts. There is no Melbourne key forward to shut down on so Rampe could roam around at will here.

Christian Salem ($12,320): Assuming the Dees do turn it over in their backline, Salem will get his hands on it. They love it in his hands and they desperately need his kicking skills here to bypass Rampe and co going inside 50. Pretty safe floor. Probably mega chalk.

RUCK

Max Gawn (One Billion Dollars): A ruckman pushing 18k i’d normally avoid like the plague but Gawn should SMASH this game. I think there is a legitimate 130-140pt floor here. They need him to have a huge game and he can have that game. His ownership will be fascinating. Hoping for under 30% but fear it will be closer to 70!
