AFL $60,000+ GIANTS V HAWKS

It’s going to be a wild and windy night in Canberra for this ripping contest that screams guns and rookies.

No rain is forecast tonight but it’s going to be windy, very windy, which will impact goal kicking and general ball movement considerably.

Selecting for an ‘ugly’ game you want to try and take the guys who don’t rely so much on marking stats and who can lay a few tackles once the ball hits the deck

This team is a pretty balanced side. Many more risks can be taken particularly in the ruck where Keefe is in play, giving you access to an extra gun midfielder.

But here we’re just looking for a nice solid cash.

Here is my team you can consider using, or building around, for the Giants v Hawks game.

FORWARD

Toby Greene ($15,280): Love paying up for Greene sans Kelly and Coniglio. He has been in everything. Slight concern that he will be needed in the forward line tonight which could impact his scoring but if he plays onball as he has the last two weeks, he will smash 120+.

Ian Hill ($6,940): Should get extra opportunities in terms of supply without Himmelberg and Finlayson, so I expect Hill to have a value game tonight. Liked what I saw last start particularly early. Hope he keeps it going for a 60+ score.

MIDFIELD

Zac Williams ($14,250): Like Greene, Williams has been amazing this last month. Will play in the middle and will be part of everything the Giants do. Tackles as well. Borderline must-play for mine.

James Worpel ($14,280): Worpel is the Hawks mid we’ve settled on here mainly because we had the cash and I don’t think many will get up to him given his positional change to solo midfield and him being higher than Shiels, JOM etc. He will need a big game if the Hawks are to compete and he likes getting back into that backline to junk up late.

Isaac Smith ($12,130): Smith has found his mojo again. He is running, he is looking for the ball in the backline then he his surging through the center to link up again. Just needs to put a goal or two in a game and he will be up around that 110+ player again.

Shaun Burgoyne ($10,060): Silky will be needed in the backline and onball tonight. At just over 10k he is a bit of a defensive play as i expect the floor is 75-80 here.

DEFENDERS

Heath Shaw ($11,730): Shaw loves playing at canberra and the wild conditions will suit his ability to read the ball and peel off and mark. Should smash tonight at a great price.

Changkuoth Jiath ($5,000): Cannot avoid the kid. Loves to tackle, loves to run and carry. Min priced half backs are rare, looking forward to seeing how he goes but expect he will be 60%+.

RUCK

Jonathon Ceglar ($10,280): Solo rucking has been good for Ceglar this year but up against Mummy and Simpson will be tough going. Hopefully he can lay 4-5 tackles and have his 20 hitouts for a 40pt ruck floor, then go to work around the ground and bring his opponents forward. The other options aren’t pretty so unless you pick Simpson to kick 3 or pay down for Keefe, Ceglar is the play.
